Connolly would have been creaming himself writing that.
Been falling over himself to get it in the mail.
So much hatred from such a long time ago, hey Rohan!
Go F@&K yourself turd.

I'm not sure we have anyone to bring up? Hawthorn and Geelong are lauded for giving players long developments in the VFL, arguably the best youngster we've seen in a Carlton jumper for a while is Dylan Buckley - guess what - he played 2 years in the VFL. The thing that will kill us for at least the next 3 years is the lack of an 8 - 10 player core coming through the VFL.

If we start playing kids who aren't ready - we'll cop the whole tanking thing again - probably with Rohan leading the charge.

No quick fix here boys...

Don't blame the coach or the players...it's not Mick's fault.

Complete overhaul required, problems started when the rules changed and our strategy didn't!

Agree with Synners - details not all correct-MESSAGE spot on
Rohan is best when he sticks to footy -footy politics he is very average -look no further than blinkered approach to bummers scandal

Wouldn't matter which coach we had.
Would not matter which superstar players we recruit to supplement the list.
We are mentally weak. It is cultural. Fuelled by many things.
At the end of the day, our players don't play hard enough or well enough often enough.

We have missed the amazing opportunity we had to build upon a raft of top draft picks + premium recruits.
Didn't work. They are mostly very good players. Better than many other teams draft picks. But none have gone on to become great, and with their talent, they should have.

We must rebuild.
On the positive side, it can turn around quickly. No-one wanted to touch Port just 3yrs ago.
And the ingredients required for us are the same that were required for them:
1) On-field leadership (Boak stood up and said: "I'm staying, who's staying with me???". Murph has kind of done that but needs to bring others with him)
2) Effective, focused President (We'll see... )
3) Exciting, well disciplined coach
4) Inspired, tenacious players with an appetite to compete.

We may not be as far off as some think but, as Connolly points out, we need to change our approach...

The action Carlton/MM has taken was to recruit 3afl players: thomas, Docherty and everett. Each would be in our top 10 this year and play Menzel and Buckley with a debut given to Cripps. This was all done after turning over 10 players on our list. I agree Graham should be played despite his limitations. The rest of them are clearly not ready.

As long as supporters are willing to accept 10 goal beltings every week, then play the kids, who are not ready. I am not sure that is best for them or that it is a political play by the press to corner Malthouse by ensuring large losses that enable them to call for his head.

I don't read anything that wanker writes.

I've read 12 year old's on BigFooty with more journalistic qualities than he does.

But, with that said, we are indeed 'All talk and no action'.

Some may see this year as a disaster............ I see it as a stepping stone, and an important one at that. SURE - it might suck in the short term, but so does foreplay sometimes - but you eventually get what's coming (sorry, bad joke).

Sticks is gone, Swann is gone, rejects (ie; Bootsma) are stating to go................ this is an important time for us.

However, it's what we do next that is crucial.

- We need to find a replacement for Mick for 2016 and beyond.
- We need to recruit better
- We need to develop better
- We need to re-install a culture
- We need to NOT look at short term / Band-Aid fixes in a stupid half-assed attempt at winning our 17th.
- Just on winning............ I think more important than anything else, we have to focus on winning back the support of the fans........... cause 10,000 less members than Richmond is a bloody joke!

Connolly's kinda right. Play the kids. But not before they're ready and just chucking them in the deep end to see if they can swim.

Regarding playing the kids , why doesnt the club introduce players that deserve a go against matches like brisb,dogs,gws.gc.This will teach them level required.
