When my work had to get rid of me a few years ago when the govt cancelled East West Link, 2 managers took me into a meeting room & started a whole line of management speak & waffle. I knew what was up so I just interrupted & said, 'am I finished, & if so can I come back one day?'

They said 'yes & yes'

I’ve seen it handled many different ways at my company, and some are definitely better than others. Sometimes they give you a cardboard box and a security guard tracks your every move until you are out the door. Other times they give you six months with full pay to look for another job inside the company.

Another guy was pulled aside recently and told that he wasn’t wanted because his performance was so bad according to five major points. When he rebutted every single point comprehensively with supporting facts as well as multiple references from his customer his new manager just shrugged and said he didn’t care and that he was going to get rid of him regardless.

This has nothing to do with who you are or how you performed, it’s just arbitrary.

And if you are senior enough they’ll let you do nothing on “garden leave” until your options vest, which sometimes takes years.

Yep. when you're out, you're out.

If your crap, you will be the first cab off the rank being pushed (which in contractor situations, its more about timing and luck than ability).

If your lucky, you'll work for a big organisation where they might have 300 people they can get rid of at once, and generally put through expressions of interest for a redundancy because it works both ways.

If we need to get rid of people, may as well start with the voluntary redundancies, and make your way to the rest later working out whom you can least afford to lose and put them to the back of that queue (money still dictates whether or not people can be kept).

Keep these conversations in mind when we ship off the likes of SPS for a bag of chips and a coke. He wanted out, we were short on players that didnt want to be here, and in a team environment, start with those who want out first, because keeping them against their will usually wont end well. For all we know, SPS has wanted out since Bolton was sacked.

Don't know where else to put this and couldn't be stuffed starting a 2022 fixture thread, but looks like AFL are considering screwing us out of the season opener.
Lets see if Sayers or anyone within the club have anything to say about it.

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/12/01/ ... ason-2022/

I have no real issue with the season opener being the grand final rematch, but all the other "special" games need to be shared too. Filth and cheats shouldn't have a mortgage on ANZAC Day.
Filth and Dees should not be automatically entitled to Queen's Birthday game and dreamtime at the G game should also be shared.
North def not entitled to Good Friday game every year either.

Get stuffed AFL. This is our only marquee game.

The only thing that will save this game is if Richmond/Brendan Gale ark up about it.

Spot on re not being fussed. I think the marquee dates should be shared. The GF replay deserves a special spot.

But if they’re going to screw us, then do everyone.

But it is the makey uppy league …

i am sick of losing to Richmond every year in the first game. So maybe a change will be good for us. Winning the first game for a change will do us a world of good.

Need to make the granny our marquee game.

ANZAC day should be grand final replay day and the right is earned, not gifted to * and bush every year.
