I'm trying to figure out how to get the rug Mokbel had on when he was caught onto a photo of Sayers.

If this is pure recreation, we are COOKED as a club.

He's probably hiding from the government after the PWC thing.
Mokbel style.
Hope he's not using Tony's wig supplier.

It's the wife's 50th birthday - no doubt pre-planned. I know for most people futball is life, but family is much more important.

For the record, I am not in the sack Voss camp though at same time I wouldn't bat an eyelid if we did.
Much rather we get him assistants that can actually help him.

My thoughts too.

#MeToo ;-)
Voss is a great leader. He may even have a strong idea of how to win footy games and what it takes to win finals.
But I feel it’s clear he either needs better tacticians or ones that he respects enough to listen to. And also better teachers/development assistants to help individuals with the craft.
I expect Sayers’ next steps will be to get a new footy boss and at least a couple of new assistants.
It would be great to get Leppitsch but I doubt he will leave his other great teammate.
I’m not so sure we will replace AR - overall, I think he has done well this year to get our best group on the park most of the time. If he can get Marchbank right until the end of the year, that would be a big positive. (If he can get Martin right, that would be a miracle. Getting McG playing as much as he has is already a miracle. If we could trade him and get something of value, now THAT would be something!)
Final note of hope:
Geelong 2006, Richmond 2016, Melbourne 2020…

I have a wig i bought for a Roy Orbison lookalike party if he needs it.....

Will be interesting to see how the media spin this....
Sayers in control, getting rid of cronies....
Sayers losing fundamental club support...

(I think it's the first, but let's see)

Go Blues

Got to laugh about this club.
They are always one step behind.
We were late acknowledging the need to use the draft.
Then we were late going the experienced players route that came after the draft (see Geel, Richmond).
When we finally had a good coach we blew it by saying we want to be a well run club now and go through a thorough process.
And now we have a coach who looks tactically poor we come out and say we want to be a well run club and keep the coach.

I don't know how things will turn out, and I do sway in terms of the big decision on the coach.
But I can't help but laugh at the fact it looks like the club are always late to the party.

We will see if Teague is a good coach from all the offers he gets for the Head Coach role over the next 10 years.

If you are talking about Ross, you have to be kidding me.
Last year the Saints were 8 and 3 after 11 rounds and ahead of us by % on 123.8%
Now they are 7 and 4 after 11 rounds and only with 116.5%
They were better off under Rattan so far.

Does he mean Stadio Olimpico, the Colloseum or the MCG?

Maybe he's scouting for some untapped talent... aerobic beasts for two way run...

Derek Gee has some serious upside

Well, he's about to do some furious back pedaling ...

St.K are fifth on the ladder.
We are 13th.
Our choices apparently were Lyon or Voss.
Right now I think we made the wrong decision.
Look nobody is saying Ross is perfect, but what I do like about him is he has a distinct style/brand of game plan.
That is something we don't have.

We’ve got to hope Cook is in it at Carlton for the long haul and not a superannuation package. If he is, sign him beyond his current contract that expires end of next year. He’s going to have his work cut out to fix the issues within the footy department. First port is call must be whether the trusts the current head of football to sort out the mess he’s been part of creating. If not, move on Brad Lloyd asap and get Cook to appoint someone who can sift through the situation and fix it.

Good point - it's all about perceptions. And to a certain extent reputation and first impressions. Lyon has a positive rep as a coach, Voss not quite so much.

There's a honey moon effect as well.

Sorry to go off topic, but did we actually have any choice in the matter with Lyon? I thought we approached him & then he knocked us back once we told him there'd be an interview process.

what did Caro (yes, yes, i know) mean by our review last year was only half-assed/ half done and we're now on the cusp of needing to do a full, proper one?

it was a herald article i think, that i refuse to pay for lol

Did she write it back then at the time or now in hindsight? I bet I could guess. She's no better than the rest of the media vultures.

I like her. She actually stated last year that it was clear the performance of the footy boss wasn't up to scratch yet they kept him around. So that's a club choosing to do a review-lite.
