Agreed on Boyd. Give him another year there and get him to request a trade to us like Docherty did (or like White did to C*&^wood). Gives us a year to sort out which of our KPF's stays... Watson or Casboult (assuming he re-signs). Tipping Waite will be gone by 2016 (if not already gone...)

What's Garletts value?
Just turned 25, kicked 43 goals last season. Averages about 1.7 goals per game.
Personally, I believe West Coast would love him. They're bereft of crumbing smalls. It's a glaring weakness in their structure IMO. LeCras is all class but injuries are taking their toll and he's as much a marking small as a crumber.
Is he worth their second rounder? (pick 29ish)

If he was, what would you do with it? Tom Mitchell may not be worth pick 5 but would a first and second round pick (5 and 29) net you Mitchell and Sam Reid?
Or are you better off picking up a Brayshaw and possibly McKenzie with 5 and 29 and trading 23 and 4th rounder (or whatever rubbish you get for Robbo) for a Jaksch?

West Coast will not have a second round pick this year.

It will most likely go towards their F/S (Waterman).

They will probably offer us a third round pick - or a trade for some dead wood like Ash Smith.

Our best bet is to try and entice Freo into Garlett (not that they would really need him with Walters and Ballantyne), but they seem to have more to work with (second round pick or/ Suban, Crozier, Sheridan etc).

Waterman won't be second round. Didn't even crack a draft combine invite. I doubt anyone will bid for him & make WCE use their second.

In that case, we can expect their second round pick (~29?) ... which I would take.

Same if we have to. But I want to keep him - although I doubt there's any chance of that happening.

If his minds shot as Synbad suggests, why do you want to keep him? A good car with a dud engine is a dud car.

Because people were just as critical of Yarran last year, and we seemed to have fixed him.

And that's why we're sponsored by Hyundai :razz:

Needs;
Tall forward
Tall defender
3/4 mids
Retire/delist;
Scotland, Bootsma, Duigan, McInnes, Cachia,
Ellard and Temay.
Trade;
Casboult, Garlett, Robinson, Lucas and Warnock,
If deal not suitable then we keep them..
Reckon we could land a few second rounders and a couple of third rounders..
Would like,
Kristian Jaksch from GWS, similar to Henderson..
Pick 6, the best available, probably a mid or Sam Durdin..
Whatever other picks we get, load up on mids, who can kick..
Bring on draft week...

Fair call.

Would like to keep Robbo...and hope for a Garlett renaissance at Carlton.

I reckon pick 6, 20, a FA and a good trade or two and we can turn things around in 2015.
Add Kreuzer Henderson Everitt Walker Thomas Buckley ..and maybe Robbo & Garlett

I would be happy with giving up Pick #6 to GWS for Jaksch and O'Rourke.

What's probably more important than if you are happy is whether GWS is happy.
I don't think so.

Only GWS rated O'Rourke @ pick 2. Dogs rated him as a second rounder for eg.

GWS won't be getting what they paid for O'Rourke.

I imagine they'd be pretty happy.

I think they would be far more happier with a quality ready made player rather than another early draft pick.
I would be extremely surprised if the GWS strategy this year is to trade 2-3 year in the system kids for draft picks.

Very reliable poster on BF saying that Robbo will stay, Garlett gone and Higgins definately coming next year on a 3 year deal.

I'd suggest we take someone like Shaun Higgins in the trade period. If Malthouse can get the best out of him we could get him for a steal and his ability to play midfield, back and forward is exactly what malthouse is after.

Robbo was playing great team football prior to his incident, and I beleive he has more to give. Should definetly be kept.

Would we look at someone like hames gwilt as a 3rd tall defender? He has had experience in finals and as the 3rd defender could find his form again. Was never a great player but could come very cheaply into the salary cap. Just an opinion and trying to get everyone thinking.
