Recruit Warnock pissing Jacobs off so much that he goes back to Adelaide. McCarthy turns out to be a spud and McInnes will be ok defender at best with picks 33 and 67. And if we had gone for picks in the draft instead of Warnock we would have possibly Beames, Hannebery, Shields, Broadbent, Redden Etc A total farce These are the guys we recruited in recent years Mitchell McCarthy Watson McInnes Lucas Davies Joseph Kerr Cachia Casboult White Tuohy O'Keefe, Bootsma Might have missed a few here but fact is that list is pretty shit and no player has achieved anything in the midfield which is where the top teams excel and where you must be good to be a top 4 team.Terrible recruiting in this time effects our depth 3 years down the track particularly in the middle Thanks Ratts Hughes and any other person involved in recruiting May 2011 MM is approached by our board when he is told he won't be coaching Collingwood in 2012. The board can't sack Ratts because we nearly make the final 4 just falling short in the west in 2011 Despite a good 2011 it hides the impending cracks. No injuries doesn't expose our lack of depth and a total attack strategy is unsustainable in the long run. Also we are way off the top teams with a huge gap between the top 3 and the rest as proved by West coast getting pansted the following Ratten offered a 2 year contract 2012 the wheels fall off. Injuries and no plan b mean we go from a potential top 4 team(yeah right) to crap) The board still want MM. No thorough interview process though to see what's out there. The board waits for the certain shocker of a game and they get it up at the Gold Coast. Perfect. Now the board can sack Ratts and get the man they have wanted for 16 months. MM signs for 2.8 mill over 3 years. We pay out Ratts contract plus all the assistant staff who would have stayed if Ratts had seen out his contract. The board actually believe our premiership window is alive and we'll despite everything stated above which isn't rocket science. No look for other candidates. Hinkley would have cost us half of what MM is getting. Not bad for a club 5 or so mill in the red. Murthy made captain. Terrible decision. We play ordinary footy in 2013. Finals are a token and Richmond are just ok. The Swans show us where we are at in the second week of the finals. 2014 The boards blueprint of 3 flags in 5 years is comedy at its finest. After round one MM goes to the board and says the list is shit and we need to rebuild. This conversation should be kept quiet but as per usual at Carlton it leaks out and isn't exactly great for human relationships between players and coach given it's round 1.Someone from the board or MM leaked it. A joke. Round 3 . One of the worst losses ever. Insipid putrid. As bad as it gets Sticks as usual changes his tune from the 3 flags in 5 years mantra to we need to rebuild. No vision of his own. Worst president ever except for George W Bush. Bottom line in all this is a board that has run its race a long time ago No vision No thorough processes No ability to get the right people I just hope there is a group who will be passionate enough to challenge these morons And I hope MM plays Graham and Cripps at the very least for not just this Saturday but for at least a dozen games this year. |

2010 - Lose Fevola, tread water 2011 - Improve significantly, not enough though 2012 - Go backwards, sack Ratten 2013 - Get MM, tread water 2014 - Go backwards Don't you just love it? |

Particularly the 2010 draft . We lack midfield depth yet recruit 3 key position prospects in Mitchell, McCarthy and Watson with our first 3 picks. Two are gone and Watson is way too slow and can't cement a spot in a crap team And if the people involved in the Warnock trade are still at the club then they should have resigned by now I don't deny your job is difficult mate but what annoys me about you is your inability to admit to your mistakes and treating supporters like me idiots. An example as to why the club has under 50000 members when it should have 70000 On the bright side I reckon Cripps and Graham are beauties Giles and Reynolds look ok too. Let's hope the MC play Cripps and Graham this weekend and they aren't the sub |
