Welcome to a belated Wolfister's weekly one cent stats for Round 14. The gang at Wolfister Inc (the big blue office at the bottom end of town) all had a massive financial new year's eve, and as such just plain weren't up to producing the report yesterday. They have been chastised, and thanks to our new IR laws, may be sacked... I'm not sure yet!

Before we get under way, lets reflect on another bad month... June 2005. The eighth time we've gone through June without a win (first time since 2002, and second time since 1961), and with a PM of -129, it makes it our 4th worst June on record (1955's PM-161 is the worst). That's enough reflecting... let's get into July!

We've played the Eagles 28 times for 15 wins (53.6%) at PM-72. We've won only 2 of the last 5 (PM-11) but 6 of the last 10 (PM+109). In the past 18 years we've played at Subiaco 14 times, winning 6 of those occasions... interestingly (or worryingly!), of the 8 games we've lost, only one of them has been by less than 5 goals (1998's 8 point loss).

The Blues have taken part in 106 Round 14s, winning 66 of these at PM+1194 - making Round 14 our 12th most successful round on record. We've lost our last 2 (both games we should have won - 2003 v Melbourne at Optus, and 2004 v Sydney at Optus), but won 2 of our last 5 (PM-17) and 5 of our last 10 (PM-28). We've played the Eagles twice in Round 14, winning both very memorable clashes - a 3 point win in 1991 (the first loss for the Eagles in 1991 - and that Minton-Connell goal from the pocket!), and a 1 point win in 1993 at Subiaco (Mainwaring hitting the post on the siren). That game in 1993 is the only time we've played at Subiaco in Round 14 - making us undefeated at the ground in Round 14.

July 2 has not been a bad playing day for the Blueboys, winning 9 of our 13 starts at PM+243, making July 2 our 62nd most successful playing day on record. We've won our last 3 July 2s - the last being a 57 point win over the Hawks in 2000. The 1995 July 2 win over Fremantle is the only time we've played in Perth on July 2, and in fact is the only time we've played interstate in Round 2, and, that's right, that makes us undefeated interstate on July 2!

Till next week, remember that 92% of stats make it to training after their 21st.

Wolf Out.
