What about Alan Eskander.

Just sold his biz. He's rich but not insanely so.

Loves Carlton, said this morning he'd love to be on the board.

He actually made the point that board members shouldn't just sit, they should roll their sleeves up and do some work. Not sure who that was directed at.

He also hates Malthouse so he gets my vote.

Well he should form a ticket and create a spill if he's got any go about him

maybe he might.

He's got a bit of time on his hands.

Trouble is the two families and their idiot relatives have us addicted to their cash.

Clean break would help. New ticket, approach the AFL for a loan.

We'd be better off being a grass roots club that looks to it's members to be more than just a revenue stream to be treated as plebs.

Dont normally comment on board matters, coz it aint my go.But there aint no shadow of doubt,Eskander is on the march.Wouldnt have a clue whether thats good or bad,but have a bit of info that this guy is super serious.I say " watch this space " ......................love to know from the board experts such as Rhino,Doc,The Big Sinner, etc is Eskander fair dinkum, and would he be much chop.

Not sure if serious :screwy:

Deadly serious Mark.

The AFL spends money all over the place.

If not them, then we need some mechanism for removing the current board and making sure we are no longer dependent on their families money for our survival.

With all due respect, more debt will not solve our problems.

Port were a basket case 2 years ago.....how have they managed to turn it around so quickly???

I don't know, but it seems to have worked.

Not more debt Mark, have the AFL take over the debt and pay some of it off.

We are addicted to the cash of the families, we have to find a way to break that habit.

If you like.

They control the club through their sponsorship.

It's cheaper than paying off the debt, which they won't do because then they lose their control.

People look at them as benefactors, when they should look at them as the worst kind of corporate leech.

I renewed my family membership at the ground before the Richmond game.

I now have two teenage boys who today declared they were no longer supporting the Blues; they were following the Cats.

Unfortunately they are deadly serious.

This club is losing a whole generation of supporters.
I have generally considered us to be the #2 supported club in the AFL.
In 5 years we will be behind;

Collingwood
Hawthorn
Drug cheats
Adelaide
Port
West Coast
Freo
Geelong
Sydney
Richmond

no Afl handouts will solve that problem.

I don't know what will, and the scary thing is that smarter people than me don't know either!!!

............and you are right about handouts, it's not about increasing debt its about removing it from the control of people who have a vested interest in us NOT PAYING IT OFF..
