Well deserved and well done. If it gets announced tomorrow it is April 1st and I still won't believe it.

The irony (if true) of winning our first rising star nom since 2010 the week after our recruiting was slammed.

I know he was a father son pick - but no other club bothered to bid for him. No one else wanted him that badly but us. We didn't take him simply because he was Jimmy's son. We've knocked back father sons before.

Is Carrazzo still eligible when he returns?

Could be our second nomination for the year

Garlett 2010. Yarran was nominated in 2010 as well.

Kevin Bartlett no longer on the selection panel.

Although to be fair to Kevin Bartlett (sickens me to say) our recruits haven't actually been knocking down the door to be nominated in the past 3 years.

Wouldn't be putting it in the books yet. Luke McDonald, Martin Gleeson, Jimmy Toumpas, James Aish and others played some pretty decent games over the weekend.

There has been some wild conspiracies in the MH370 thread so I'll try one here.

AFL will engineer a Rising Star nomination for Dylan Buckley to deflect attention from Carlton's shithouse recruiting record over the past 10 years in order to stem the call of revolution to the current status quo of the Carlton power base in order to ensure Carlton remain in AFL mediocrity for the next 10 years.

Whether its true or not.. happy with Buckley. But he must learn that he needs to get fitter and find more of the ball.

Always been the issue and not easy to fix.

Good thing is that he's giving himself every chance and feels a part of the club this year, when that may not have exactly been the case early in his career.

Stats wise & impact on the game - you could argue Bucks was better than all of them.
