Can this guy ever get out on the park?

Anyone got the stats on how many games he's missed since his debut?

Look it was a terrible selection at the time and looks worse with injuries

Unless get a special freak talent taking a ruck with a pick in top 10 just horrible decision

I dont think it was terrible...
but what we have done to him is criminal.

We have played him injured and not right for a major part of his career....Which always meant he could never have time to get his body right

Kruezer is a quality player, gives you everything and knows the game, natural talent.

My main beef with Ratten as coach, was the way he ran Kruezer into the ground in his first 60 games or so. You don't put a kid into the ruck for long periods against hardened seasoned monster rucks that know the tricks of body work.

And to Kruezers credit I thought he as fantastic for us as a follower be fore he did his knee. (Kruezer has several physical worries, it's his hip)

I have a very good source at another club that said to me in at the end of 2010

"I can't believe how your club is using Kruezer, you're going to kill the kid"

Ratts has a bit to answer for on that front. I think he was under pressure to win games as a coach and exploited the fantastic work rate of Kruezer as a young gun. And remember Kruezer basically plays as a ruck rover, quite mobile and doesn't fumble, very clean.

I hope they sort out his injries

He'll come good. What he needs to do is take this entire season off. Complete rest.

Agree if that is what is required to get him 100%. He will come back ready in 2015 as a mid 25yr old and just coming into his physical prime ready for a good 7 or 8 years.

That's fine and should happen but will it?

He needs to have the season off get the foot right, have a full pre season and then play purely as the No.1 ruck. Nothing less. Otherwise we are doing the wrong thing by Kruezer and the club.

Just play Warnock and give Casboult a full season to see if he's up to it. If not see you later.

When the club always quotes 1 - 2 weeks for injuries is it any wonder we crucify our players.

Bloody oath it is. What's he going to do that will help us win a flag??? Much better getting time into kids like we did with Jacobs.

More short term mediocre thinking.

..I used to have it written somewhere how many games he has played vs time on list.. ..even with the blown knee, it is more than any of his peers of same time..

..106 out of a possible 139.. ..huge effort for a ruck even without the big injuries he has sustained..

..as others have said, we played him too much too early, then played him in 2012 with bad injury.. ..rush him back from broken thumb, play him wit a broken foot.. ..he is actually fairly durable as silly as it sounds, blown knee was big setback, but talls take time.. ..hendo taken at pic 8 and mcevoy at pick 10 from memory, neither has played as many games.. ..use that for perspective..

Some real harsh comments on here. Kid has been wrecked by playing half his games as a forward. He is a ruckman simple us that.
Get him fit give him the no.1 role and let him go! he is only 24 years old FFS!!!

We are still waiting for Waite at 31 to realise his potential. Sadly it will be the same with Matthew Kreuzer.

He was brilliant for a young ruckman before his knee injury. He carried too much of the load for a newbie and all he's got in return is abuse from supporters of all clubs including alas his own for being soft and useless, when he's obviously labouring and might do for the rest of his career. We were right to pick him - he was a unique talent, and hopefully he will be again - but injuries and workload haven't been kind to him.

So many short memories in the footy world...

Hopefully Waite gets to 200 games, 225+ goals, half his games as a backman, Vic State player, Australia Int rules player, close to AA selection. All that with stuff all good KP around him in the last 10 years. That record sounds fairly good. Maybe hasn't reached his top potential but he's not far off as you think.
