home team advantage
lots of visiting opportunities for fans
I'm in if we can take 5 young guns from each of GWS and Suns with us.
no worries.
oh, and leave behind the dinosaurs at Visy.

ok, maybe 3 guns from each team??

would you believe 2 guns and free flights once a year for all members?

I'd be surprised if the AFL agreed to sending one of the more popular clubs down there. I think we still fall into that category.

Much more likely that the Roos, Saints or Dogs.

Same again.

Is be surprised if any team that can fill the MCG would be allowed to leave Melb.

Well I'm at the stage were I believe we have lost our identity and advantage.
I am so frustrated and depressed that I am now willing to vote and accept that we move our club to Tasmania and play all our games between Launceston and Hobart.
At the very least this will give us an identity, future and maybe even give me another option to invest in.
Yep - I've also become more selfish by being part of the TC community for so long.

Hypothetically,

If say Richmond was to go to Tassie, you would expect their block buster games (VS Carlton, Essendon* and Collingwood) to be all played at the MCG anyway !!

I dont think it is as bad as that Surrey.

I know who Carlton is, just the results havent insoired me over the last 10 years.
We will have our day in the sun....and it might be after the Suns and GWS have theres.

Always said that one day there will be no Roghhead and Buddy at Hawthorn, let alone spitiritual leaders Hodge and Mitchell, No Reiwodlt and Dal Santo at the Saints, No Jobe and Fletcher at the Bumbers etc etc. The wheel turns.

We didnt make the most of our drafting and trading because our list strategy wasnt right.
I believe we took winning from granted and the Judd signing whilst inspriring took our eyes off the game plan to succeed.

These days we have to be tougher with list decisions. I hope we've learned a bit about holding on to old players too long, and over rating players, let alone carrying deadwood.

We'll win more than we lose, and I'll still enjoy the Blues whever they play.
Tasmania is not a big market. Carlton is bigger than that.
Hawthorn took advantage of the void in Tasmania and have reaped the rewards with revenue above and beyond their wildest dreams.

Anyone else smell a rat or smoke perhaps?

This is what the AFL does best.

Smoke Screen!

AFL, Tip Off, Fat Vlad, Heard, Heard’s Mrs, The Scum, infractions .......bloody hell they (he) is good!
If the AFL were a business in the real corporate world they would folded a decade ago.
Instead they run a religious circus and make up and change the rules on a whim as they like. We as Carlton disciples should know.

Good luck Tassie!

But strangely enough I was thinking about Tassie the other day. Considering the way I and a lot of us feel, I was contemplating a merger with another team so as to allow a Tassie team to enter the competition and keep the number of teams to 18.
This is where I'm at mentally and how I spent my spare time.
I would not however be against a move to Tassie provided we got a huge financial and on field gain......talking GoldCoast GWS ball park here!
Here lies another problem...our current administration and structure would squander it!
My family love Tassie and considered buying a property in Hobart a few years ago. If it were to become the home of CFC I may just find myself scouring the property markets again.....and what a place to live!!!!

Smoke and mirrors. Will not happen. As a passionate Tasmanian I and many other know we cannot support a full time team. Lack of people and resources. Hawthorn stitched up that deal beautifully.

I was thinking about Tassie too, around that time.
was wondering how it would have been if all the clubs had gotten those kids now at GWS and suns, and they'd just gotten a Tassie team. I didn't think of us as being a merger. Thought of North or saints actually.
I was imagining our team with lots of fresh new picks in it. How the standard of all the clubs would be better, and all the teams would have genuinely felt hopeful to win a flag.
Seems it's all spread a bit thin now. It really is a move made for the next generations I guess.
too bad for us right now.
