This may have been posted elsewhere but did anybody else hear Robbo last night proclaim Carlton as being guilty of the worst case of “spin doctoring” in 2013? The comment was made in relation to our stated goal of making major changes to our 2013 playing list.

I don’t disagree that we did not achieve this goal (if indeed there was such a claim).

What infuriated me was the way this biased and hopelessly compromised “journalist” can look down the barrel of the camera and say this with a straight face.

He clearly does not know the meaning of “spin doctoring”. Essendon**, the media (HUN, Robbo, Connolly, SEN, T. Watson etc) take the gold medal for spin doctoring in 2013. They are way out in front for 2014’s award already.

I turned the sound off as soon as he said that. What a moron.

25% change in list is pretty close to major I would think.
And if we believe that some players like Lucas and Bootsma were put up for trade but got no acceptable bites then the number might have been higher.

I would have thought we had one of the biggest list turnovers of all the clubs.
Why does everyone hate Carlton and love sticking the boots in and mud racking?
I dont get it. It seems everyone is hoping that we lose players to free agency and cant stop reminding us of the number of free agents we have. Dont other clubs have any free agents?

Yep, and even Carlton supporting media work really hard to be even and bag us as well. Go figure.

Is there anyone except Hughesy that displays any public love for us.

I think the impression taken by the media from comments by Swann, McKay etc was that we were going to trade some bigger names than what ended up happening, which was largely deck chair swapping, e.g. Betts/Thomas.

They were disappointed because they thought Carlton was going to give them plenty of juicy stories, make their lives easier etc and it never really happened.

I found that little segment in the pub very strange. Gerard Whateley looked as though he'd been crying moments before the cameras went on. Robinson and Ralph just repeated themselves and are an embarrassment to 'journalism' and Mike Sheahan probably got it right in his criticism of Kreuzer and lauding of Henderson, but we've heard and seen it all before. Hope it's YouTube'd sometime....would like another look at the 'sulk' look on Whateley.

I think Whately had just finished a Rocco Siffredi scene with Robbo and Ralph, he was a bit sore and sorry.

Was it like the first one they did this year where they all have a (3rd in the caes of Robbo) beer in front of them except for Gerard with his iced water?

They should have Jon Anderson driving through the wall as a finale

Was there pizza on the table? Or was it in the room behind.

I don't think any claim of selling the farm was mentioned.

If things don't change for the better this year, the farm selling will occur.

I recall when I was a 12 year old, I could go through any VFL side and tell you chapter and verse name, number and what position they played, granted their are 18 sides now, but flower me dead these journos are professionals an all they have to do all day is analyse the 18 clubs they are meant to be writing or commenting on.

Robbo was actually still in spin doctor mode when he made that remark

He hasn't stopped since that day when the golden Boy of Windy Hole declared that he didn't know why he was sitting in that particular chair

The lies will continue, ladies and gentlemen - even after the infractions are delivered upon the Tullamarine doping masters

MMM is the worst by a long long way. IMO, Not only are their commentators uninformed (there are more appropriate words than uniformed but I better not say them on this forum) but they are incredibly biased.

I will never listen to that station again.

Especially considering that flog Campbell Brown got a gig this year.

Too much backslapping.
