Post subject: | Member feedback survey |
I received my member feedback survey in an email today, and have just completed it. Usual standard stuff, although this year it does have some questions about onfield performance and performance of the Board and administration. Unfortunately, the questions about our home ground only referred to it as the 'home ground', and made no differentiation between MCG and Docklands. I answered all questions on that subject as 'I don't know'. There is a space at the end to write further comments. In there, I mentioned the issue of the home ground questions not differentiating, and gave my opinion on MCG vs Docklands, and my preference for MCG. I also took the opportunity give my feedback to the Club (who knows if it will get to anyone there) on the performance of the Board and Kernahan, which I quote below. I encourage other members to use this opportunity to let the Club know their thoughts on the Board and admin, if you have strong opinions. If enough members tell the Club they are unhappy with the Board's performance, and/or Kernahan's performance, it might facilitate change (I don't think that message comes through in voting for board members (which doesn't happen all that often anyway). I'm not sure the Club actually has a sense of how many members are disenchanted with Kernahan and the Board.) Quote: The performance of the Board has been poor for a period of 15+ years. It is time for them to let someone else do the job. Millions of dollars in debt, botched coaching appointments, terrible recruitment, membership levels that are falling behind other clubs...all this sees us as a middle of the road team with barely any under 24 talent coming through. The Board stated an aim 4 or 5 years ago to reduce numbers to 6-8, and can't even get that right! Too many egos who are there for the wrong reasons. The Board must ultimately be responsible for the poor position of the Club, starting with the President, who has failed in his role as Board Member and President since the John Elliott debacle. When is he going to take responsibility and stand down?

Yeah, got my survey, filled it in and sent it back................im happy that the club is canvassing the views of its members................im easily pleased so i didnt let rip.My tone was basically shut the EFF up and just do something. The Elliott era is long gone and we have achieved eff all since.Basically i told 'em im not interested in what they had to say coz basically its been all talk no action.Just get the side up there and competative,no iffs or butts....................and if there is no improvement in the next 12 months hopefully a George Harris type young dynamo will emerge and take over............far too long with no result. |

Can't remember the exact wording of the question, but basically it was ''what do you see as the most pressing issue to be addressed''? I said ''Sort out the Presidency''. |

Sticks highlights whats wrong as president... but i believe even if sticks is replaced and the board kept its the same thing we need a cleansing .. a purge of everything.... and start afresh |
