Given that we have finished top 6 and our three regular blockbuster opponents are all in the 7 - 12 bracket, we can only have return matches against two of them next year under the new fixturing guidelines.

So the question is which side would you prefer to only play once next year?

For me I hope we only play the DSFDC's* once.....and as late as possible in the season when they are usually cooked!

The AFL will find a way to ensure that we play richmond, essendope and Collingwood twice. I'm actually hopingtthat we play hawthorn and Geelong twice also, let's be tested

nah...bombers didn't finish in the top 6.
also, we are bound to play tiggers twice
I reckon we'll still only play freo freo once.
they'll make up some excuse why..

If we play all our traditional blockbuster sides twice just shows what a wank the AFL are.

Surely Hawthorn twice would be as good for crowds as Richmond.

They will find a way to schedule us against all three twice.

I would like to play Hawthorn twice (not at Etihad).

No game against St Kilda.....I'd be happy with that too!

Demetriou already said that the new fixturing process will take into account traditional rivalries and derbies. On that it would appear that we will play our usual Collingwood/Richmond/Essendon* doubles. Leaving 2 matches, which will in all likelihood be based around us finishing 9th, not 6th. Id expect no doubles against other teams in the top 8, but likely to get a double or two against one of West Coast/Adelaide/North.

Technically Carlton came ninth, so technically Carlton should get an easier draw in my opinion than a team in the top 6.

Maybe they should start this new system with the tiers for the draw (1-6/ 7-12 etc) in 2015.

Not keen on playing Hawthorn twice. Haven't beaten them in 10 matches. That could be the difference between making and not making the finals.

We officially finished 6th though. Hope we get Geelong or Hawthorn twice at the G since I don't want us making the finals by just beating up on shit teams like Richmond and other mediocre sides.

I think we'd be quick to dismiss the "technically Carlton came ninth" line of argument if we won the flag. :P

Expect a lot of budgies and pets in the pro Hawthorn crowd.

More likely,
Coll twice
Ess twice
3 of top 6 twice, this could include Port again.
No bottom 6 twice.

Umm, I think you can take sas87's version as being pretty close.
