So should we just expect his appointment to Carlton to be a formality and if so, should we be happy about it?

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/m ... 2tevm.html

Quote:
"David's a world-class performance and fitness adviser . . . doctor of science, a wonderful, wonderful person. I rate him as one of the best in Australia and my information is that he's rated very highly in the world," the Blues coach told 3AW.

"With Justin Cordy leaving us at the end of the year we'll be looking at that prospect."

yeah ive heard it all before chucky... if he was very good he wouldnt be allowed to go... if he wants to go and he has a year in his contract... he is unprofessional
my guess is both parties are happy for him to move on.... him and collingwood.

we get him... and they will get someone else we want in 3 years time.....

after all... hes been there 13 years.. and everyones happy for him to move on...
sounds like old technology to me....

there are always people pushing through...

but yes i know.. he is leaving collingwood to come to the professional organisation that is carlton..
we can go to arizona .. etc....

there are no other methods except OLD collingwood methods in existence...

Greg Swann was on KB's show this AM; and he was asked whether Buttifant was coming to Carlton.

Swanny said....''first I've heard of it....dunno''.................

To be fair, old Collingwood has proven to be better in 2013 than new Collingwood. :P

Buttifant 100% has walked out on Collingwood. He wasnt pushed out at all

Dont underestimate the effect he will have on our playing group mentally. The Collingwood players absolutely love this bloke..... More than Mick and anyone else. HUUUUUGE loss for the Pies. GREAT GET FOR OUR CLUB

He has probably had enough of kick it to bucks, Walsh obviously had and by the sound of it the players have.

Explain that to me.

Explain how you keep someone who doesn't want to be there? Do you tie him to his desk?

Moreso, explain WHY you'd want to keep someone who doesn't want to be there.

he is old collingwood and collingwood 2013.... the world is constanty changing and you need new ideas...
My problem with all this is were only sourcing 'old' collingwood people
Swann/Richardson/Brown/Barham/Malthouse/Buttifant..

To me that just shows complete lack of imagination...

He didnt walk out on Collingwood... hes part of the culture change... because theyre treading water...

why doesnt he wanna be there???... first answer me that and then ill answer your question

because not enough money?
not professional enough club?

hes been there 13 years and has one more year on his contract... if he wants to break it because he does nt want to be there... he is unprofessional??
I would assume thats why he signed the contract? In good faith and goodwill to each other? Also for legal reasons.
he is out because he isnt part of the new collingwood ... theyre going to restructure.
We have all the imagination of a pea

We can't play that game forever.........

Someone moves to club X and it's a coup.
Someone comes to Carlton and it's because no-one else wants him anyway.

Reckon Collingwood would have liked for Mick to be at the helm on Saturday night. No?

We cant play that game forever( copy collingwood).. whether they wanted him on the helm or not isnt the point..
The point is its not 2000 when Buttifant took over.. its 2013
They have been disappointing and theyre having a clear out.
Theyre not looking at Geelong to Xerox...
The point is were doing the Xerox of Collingwood .. lock stock and barrel.
We are after Daisy.. we were after Cloke last year....Also after O'Bree but couldnt afford him..

You dont see anything weird about all this?... along with everybody we have smuggled.

Thats a whole lot of reliance from one source....its extremely unhealthy...

Its a plagarism... which means were very unimaginative...

Apart from MM they havent felt pain in any other area but coaching.

Swann was no biggie
Richardson was no biggie development
Barham was no biggie in membership
Didnt crash and burn because of Brown

and they have lost a mass of coaches .... (all working under mm)..

oh and we have made a play for their recruiter 3 years ago

I largely agree our club has issues, but I can't see this as a bad appointment.

Bucks wants his own people, it's not a reflection on the ones going out.
