I started watching it...and couldn't stop till the end.

This game is always a go too game for my now 12yo son.
He reckons its Warnock's best game.

I keep saying we would have done even better if Warnock didn't come to Carlton.

Micky Conlan did it once from the centre of the MCG to the goal line with one bounce. If it's good enough for him....

Just watched a 2012 game against Collingwood.
We got rid of the following from that game.

Ratts (Coach)

Touhy
Henderson
Gibbs
Waite
Robertson
Garlett
Betts
Yarran
Hampson

Apart from Yarran, who never really played again, the others went on and played reasonable footy elsewhere.

Imagine if we had kept Robbo, who is playing great footy still, Gibbs at his best, Garlett at his fastest, Betts and Waite on the park over the ensuing 8 years.

Who said Eddie couldn't play well in big games.

Juddy!

Knucklehead Robbo.

The good were very good the average very average. Our problem for a long time.

All in the good cause of a cleanout and rebuild. Ask SOS.

Not all.
Robbo and Jeffy were kicked out for partying.
Waite left because we wouldn't give him an exrta year.
Eddie and Touhy left over a fw thousand dollars a year.
Bean counting and PC.

The team of the 80s would all have been kicked out fr partying.

Robbo and Jeffy were kicked out for partying. - wanted to make a statement to the group about culture. Unfortunately, chose 2 individuals we couldn’t afford to lose onfield and could have made a statement otherwise, ie. selections, etc.
Waite left because we wouldn't give him an exrta year. - played 5 years at NM. Should have negotiated earlier but left the door open and he couldn’t go back on his word.
Eddie and Touhy left over a fw thousand dollars a year - we low balled them. They both wanted and would have stayed, if we negotiated correctly.

I think this is spot on with my memory of events.

Gosh they got it badly wrong with waite and eddie re how many games left in their career.
That is part of history Id like to revisit to find out who how and why.

I've watched a few games from the 2011-12 era with Ratts as coach.
The run and stun game we played when Yarran, Eddie, Judd, Armfield, Garlett, Walker and Scotland was devastating.
I had forgotten just how good Yarran was. His ability to evade tackles and run flat out, look up field and just caress the footy low to a lead up forward was nothing less than exquisite. Delicious even.
What a pity his life away from football destroyed what might have been a stellar career.
MM managed to turn that team into a plodding, defensive boring team of easybeats inside two years.
I have no doubt we wouldn't have sunk so low had we stuck with Ratts. He seemed to let the players play more on instinct than the outdated, structured crap MM introduced to the club.
I think the Teague Train will be similar to the Ratts model. I bloody hope so.

Yarran’s downward life trajectory coincided when he split up with his then girlfriend Michelle Trewertha, who used to work in Carlton Media Dept.
