I've always admired Voss with the way he goes about it. When I heard him this morning discussing his interest in an assistant coaching role next year, I though what a great addition he woudl be. We have a vacant midfield coach role, and he would fill that very well. He would add so much more than someone like Brad Green who seems to be there for work experience with little success behind him. Further, if Voss turns out to be valuable, he could become a natural successor to Mick. We would of course need to avoid a Malthouse-Buckley fiasco but we need to think about succession planning, and I would feel very confident with Voss. What say you good TC'ers? |

He may have a few offers coming up. Would be a great choice having had the experience of being a head coach. I'm hoping we clean out our assistants so plenty of room for Voss and a few younger coaches fresh out of the game. Anyone know who he supported as a kid? |

Someone a little more hands on who can actually put their sneakers on during pre-season, shove a hand in a kids back and say 'If you want to play midfield in this league you should be going this fast'. Someone who recognizes that the midfield is more than the little guys and brings the big fellas along for the ride instead of separating. Someone who can spot strengths and weaknesses immediately, act accordingly and teach appropriately. Someone who thrives on working with a demanding senior coach and someone who can empower a group of young men to accept responsibility and challenge themselves from day 1. And importantly - someone who whilst playing, has at the very least done the AFL Players Association's Next Coach Program. |
