This is a simple letter to inform you of your tactical incompetence in writing, and to request that the number of footballing minds that are working with and around outdated selection metrics and philosophies be promptly fired from the nearest stunt cannon for comedic effect before being severed from the aforementioned selection responsibilities. I am tired of watching a talented enough football team with a more than adequate coach and high-quality facilities continue to shoot themselves in the feet with an artillery gun. I am tired of the psychological impact that this has on the playing group and the supporters. In summary: go @#$%&! yourself and stop ruining the club you claim to love and/or collect cheques from. Sincerely, Every Carlton Supporter Alive. |

I really hope this is one of those threads that people point to at the end of the game when we win and go "haha". Don't think it will happen though. |

It'll be because Port fell over, or our top 6-8 players ran their asses off to set an example for the rest who either can't run or won't run (in some cases both, and that's not necessarily down to attitude). There are far too many gun shy people at this football club when things go wrong. They brought the arrogance back, but where the @#$%&! is the confidence and faith in the playing group and the accountability towards identifying and acknowledging what does work versus what might work significantly better with a nudge. Take this week's selections: why not Lucas and Buckley instead of Ellard and Duigan? None of those names are going to run out an AFL match except one, and he's not the one that got the nod. None of them are going to execute well except one and he's not in the squad either. Too busy looking at the performance floor and not the ceiling. |

Super coach is super defensive and now shown to be super wrong. |

He is not super defensive, he structures where the midfield play is predominantly played to give the defenders a chance when we send several small defenders forward to assist the transition from midfield to the forward line. The problem is the forward structure, and how we use those numbers despite being instructed to better assess the flow of play and, you know, actually run into space and demand the footy. I could go on all day but I might go back and watch the game for a bit. Or repeatedly stub my toes, whichever turns out to be more entertaining. |

The way people carry on here you'd assume Mick's telling them to stand still. |

Warnock Kreuzer Casbault Hampson How many times does it need to be shown it doesn't work when we play 3 of them? You have to play 2 of them forward to maintain rotations. We got back into the game when Casbault was subbed off and we got more run and chase in the forward line. Also, it would have been jice for Graham to get a full game and experience that win. |

Doesn't change the purpose of the thread Heavs & cimm. Well done to the select few who were the catalyst that sparked the team to drag themselves over the line (one of them being Murphy, welcome back Marc), but if you can't see how bereft of confidence we were and how much that made our opposition over-confident and rewarded for said over-confidence, then I don't know what more I can tell you. We picked at least one too many talls, at least one too few runners. Duigan had an excellent 3rd quarter but you're kidding if you think he could start and compete for four quarters next week, despite how hard he has clearly been working on his body shape and fitness. Ellard had 12 possessions at 58% efficiency. Warnock was at 30% efficiency; Casboult @ 17%. Incredibly poor selections given the player pool. What on earth did Lucas, Laidler and Buckley ever do to sit behind those 3?! |

Why cant the match committee have enough balls to drop Warnock or Casboult- FK me, we CANNOT play 3 immobile bigs, its Kreuzer plus one other and take your frickin'pick who it is |

Post subject: | Re: Dear Match Committee... |
I would honestly drop both, and then ask Hendo to ruck around the ground to spell Kreuzer until the next centre bounce, with a tactic designed to slow down the flow of possession and buy time between goals (we seem to be good enough at smashball to play it for a bit). If that's not possible, you would ideally have Kreuze parked in the square as a decoy forward for 3-5 minutes. He can make a bit of noise and keep his defender honest, but the idea will be to use the space in front of him to score from 25-40m out. |

Game style is fine, the effort and the creativity from the players, and the will to have a go and give things a try when it's your turn is inconsistent and/or deplorable. |

Playing personal inhibits our style The people responsible would inhibit any game style at this level. There's too many of them, and if it were 1 or 2 you could easily get them to change their tune. |
