As voting members we've often struggled to shape who goes onto our board, but as Carlton supporters we should have a very big say in who hosts our digital media program. For many months now, Andrew Maher has been an Essendon* apologist with regard to their doping scandal. Even after the charges were made public, Maher continues to flip-flop, fence sit and even cheer-lead in the Bombers corner - seemingly star-struck by his SEN co-host Tim Watson who may turn into a bigger joke than he already is if the players' parents get their say.

The Carlton of yesteryear would have pulled Andy Maher in months ago and said 'Look - we realise that show you do is your main bread and butter. We know yourself and Watson need ratings, but we don't have room for you to host the Blue Print with the kind of stance you're currently taking. Either tone the cheerleading down a bit or we'll find someone else'

As it stands now - I'm personally fed up with Maher. I think he needs replacing anyway as the Blue Print has been a bit stale this year. Would much prefer a Rob Walls/Mark Maclure + guest. Love the concept, but Jay Allen and co need to get this right.

Judging from a few comments on twitter yesterday - I believe he's lost the respect of Carlton people. I'm voting NO.

Who cares. He had an opinion but it just wasn't a very good one.

Maybe Timmy "Simon the Likeabale" Watson put a spell on him.

What he says from here will be what matters though.

Andrew Maher can flower off.

No-one in the media did us any favours back in 2002, except if memory serves Gerard Healy and Tony Shaw.

Andrew Maher hasn't even jumped on the Johnny come lately bandwagon like Hutchy and others have.

He could have done more for the ratings of his insipid little program by jousting with Tim Watson on this issue every morning rather the pathetic lap dog efforts he has put in.

So it's a big no from me.

Carlton was once ruthless though Harks. I know you're old enough to remember. I don't need the arrogance of yesteryear, but I like the ruthlessness. Supporters shouldn't have to put up with that crap. Whether it a membership, donation or merchandise, we give financially to the club every year. The club in turn uses some of that money to produce an online program to engage with supporters. The host of that program then goes on to lose the respect of many supporters for his continued chest-beating in support of our our second biggest rival, all the while condoning doping in sport - and we're somehow meant to sit back and be happy that he's the host of our only digital program?

I don't give a toss that he's a Carlton supporter. His time is up.

Not feeling it Doc. He had an opinion and he got it wrong.

The media donkey chose not to play Yin and Yang with his Essendon* loving cohort but can't see why that should preclude him from things Carlton.

Not feeling any angst against Maher but that could change. Who knows?

Amen to that Doc. Surely this guy puts a stain on our club with his support of the drug cheating dogs? Our club dosent need to be associated with such people, so yeah I'm a big NO to this as well.

Maher has some credit on the balance sheet with me because he has done a good job in the media and does a good job on the Blue Print.

However his work through this matter has been borderline corrupt.

He would want to start backing the right horse from now or he should be given the flick from all Carlton related media.

How long are we meant to give him? Because he read the charges like we all did yesterday, and then this morning continued to back the wrong horse...(see his support of Dr. Garnham).

I haven't heard his work this week.

His fawning over Essendon* and James has been making me ill so I can't listen.

Agree with these points.

He's undoubtedly a Carlton man through and through, with a lot of passion for the club, and he does good work on the Blue Print (although the show itself is pretty substandard this year).

However, for better or worse, this makes him a 'mouthpiece' of our club, and the fact is his view on this is WAY out of touch with the vast majority of Carlton people.

But my only question is whether his (wrong) opinions about one matter warrant him getting the boot? I'm not so sure...

AFAIK wallsy is retiring from the media at the end of this year and wants to spend next year in france or something along those lines...

..voted NO as well, don't like anyone wearing 'two hats'.. ..if he wants to be mainstream media and censor his opinions to suit the show, sure that's his perogative and good luck to him.. ..SEN morning slot is a good gig [if yer a monring person i suppose], and Before the Game seems fun enough.. ..but then, come on our CFC type show and be all carlton doesn't jive with his regular senior gigs.. ..watch and listen to him enough, and everything's tuned towards what gig he's on. ..and sure that happens, but he goes a bit too much 'vibe of show', ya dig..

Call Essendon* fans, members and supporters what you like, but I don't think you would find a greater loyalty anywhere!
We on the other hand are an embarrassing bunch when it comes to supporting our club and individuals within. Fact!
Andy Maher supported his media mates through this and has on occasions has showen less loyalty to CFC.

Loyalty?

They're not showing loyalty to their club. If they were they'd be trying to save it.

They're showing blind devotion to a cult leader.

They're like Wiggles fans who've been told the big red car's been sucking fully leaded petrol instead of tunes but refuses to believe it because Greg's wearing a nice yellow skivvy when he sits behind the wheel.

"We" on the other hand booted out a corrupt management immediately when it became clear they'd broken the rules.

That's loyalty to your club.

Have never liked Maher on any of his media platforms whether he's through and through Carlton or not.

The Essendon* stuff in the mornings with Watson is just another reason to change channels.

I don't watch the Blue Print because he's on it.
