For the board to declare why it has failed in its constitutional duty to have a successor in place for sticks - either as president or board member?

Regardless of whether one is a sticks supporter or not, the board has failed in its responsibility and corporate governance

Trade for 10+ picks inside the top 30 over the next 2 years
Get a decent recruiter before they do that

Bottom line
Kernahan Pratts must go
new board is created with the right people
It must start with one person getting the ball rolling
The longer this takes to happen the longer we are [REDACTED]

There has to be Frank Costa type person in Australia that has the brains ,business sense and time to do it
I hope
Otherwise supporters will give up
I did half way through the third. Starting looking at You tube clips
I gave up being a member 3 years ago
I gave up going to games after round 4 last year
I aint on my Pat Malone I am sure

The list needs a re build

Poor KPP stocks esp fwd, and too many mids/smalls who either have skill/pace but no hardness, or have hardness but no skill.

Agreed Kernahan needs to take responsibility

He's the top ranked person at the club and has been there for the journey so he must take responsibility for the terrible recruiting and trading we have embarked on over the years

Hampson and Warnock have been busts

Garrett, Yarran, Betts - you can't have so many players who are the same and who dont put their bodies on the line.

It's ironic Synbad says club has recruited too many HBkers (which is true) and yet we don't have any decent ones to show for it other than Walker who is another who IMO doesn't go in hard

Underpinning all this we have the cold realization that players such as Judd, Waite, Carrazzo, Simpson, Scotland are all aging and near the end

That tells me it is time to re build to a large degree

The Plan didn't work. Club hung their hat on an injury prone Waite, and 7 Year Development players like Hampson, and it hasn't worked

Sorry to say it but making Murphy captain was another poor move. That is arguably Malthouses error.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter who is coach. Rattan arguably did well with this list. We have to move fwd now and re build, be smarter with drafting.

In Malthouse we have a coach who has shown he can develop lists so we have to accept this reality and hope we can do better moving fwd

But the people at the top must take responsibility but I doubt that will happen

Synners hit it on the head.

The club needs a total and thorough independent review of every club activity, and the board needs to commit totally to whatever that review says.

I'm in the business of analysing workflows, processes, systems. You do that, strip back to what it is the business is actually trying to do, then find the best way, and implement it, regardless of politics or personalities. The smartest companies acknowledge the feedback and act on it. The ones in a mess ignore what we say and believe they have the answers.

It saddens me to say, I think our problem is that Sticks and the board think they are the smartest guys in the room. Thus, we are doomed.

Some of them are pretty smart.
But there's so many board members
And they all have a lot of commitments...

Who is the driving force?
Sticks?

In terms of how the football club is run on a day to day basis, how it engages with its rank and file supporters, its sponsors, any key stakeholder whatsoever, we need to be a modern constitutional democracy. Right now we're post-Lenin Russia.

Pratt being Lenin, Sticks is Stalin, Fahour is Trotsky, Kamenev and Zinoviev are Collins and Smorgon.

Those who don't learn from history are only doomed to repeat it.

I think the people most responsible for the Football Dept appointments over the last decade need to be made accountable.

Kernahan and Swann need to go.

Won't happen though, unfortunately.

The board needs a cleanout of the longer term board members and 'the families' need some distance between themselves and the board.

Need to reduce the board numbers; including those who have been part of poor decision making which has occurred over the last 10-15 years. The same board members who were part of an administration which was kicked out after the discovery of systematic cheating of the salary cap.

It is amazing that someone has survived that long on a board when so many poor decisions have been made.

Focus on recruiting lots of good players, not trying to recruit one superstar. Sounds simple but Geelong do it.

You know what would happen. Shelve the key recommendations. Cherry pick a few which are easy to implement but make no real difference - give the impression the board is acting on the independent recommendations.

From the VFL best to one of the worst in the AFL.

WTF, kids are dropping off, supporters are dropping off. Our membership says it all.

What crap list management, similar to the Tigers early 2000's. heaps of early draft picks only to stuff them up. We ruined Pagan's coaching career, glad that we have MM as he has a big ego and will go down swinging and hopefully will bring a few down with him, players, recruiters and administrators.

Swan is liked by some but not all. Power play between Pratt and Mattieson camp. FFS will someone on our board stand up and take control?

And by the way, get Hughes out of the place completely.

We need a plan of what style of football we want to play, possibly Malthouse appointment was this. Then we need to recruit players to play his system. Malthouse will get his first chance with the draft/ trade this year.
There is a significant development issue at Carlton, guys like 206 had a massive upside has gone backwards, still has the body of a fourteen year old and the intensity of a garden fountain. You can name many players in fact it's harder to name those who have developed even slightly above expectations.
Think the whole Fevola thing has caused overcorrection to the choirboy recruitment policy.
Football requires some C factor we have zero skinny kids and nice lads.
Running the business is easy when the team is flying, the business is the football.

Those bagging Malthouse are clueless.

Mick knows exactly what it takes to win a premiership. The kind of players you need to win a premiership. The right culture you need....... THEY ARE NOT THAT EASY TO WIN

He has come from one of the best resourced clubs in history, what ever he wanted he got and thats why he had COllingwood play in 4 grand finals, 8 preliminary 6 in a row.

Those who thought Mick was going to walk in and steer the current group to a flag this year are delirious.

Season 2013 for Mick is working out if he has those ingredients to take this club to a flag...... He worked out pretty early in the piece he doesn't. We lack smart footballers, leaders, skilful players and a bit of mongrel. THATS NOT MICKS FAULT

Mick is a smart man. He will rebuild this list. Rebuild the culture. He will demand success and demand the resources that a club like ours should have. And I HAVE NO DOUBT THE CLUB WILL BE BETTER FOR IT

I for one am most happy to have Mick at our club no matter his age. He knows his stuff. He knows what it takes and HE WILL REBUILD THIS CLUB

YOU GOT TO HAVE FAITH IN MICK..... he will do it
