As I always like to say, any win is a good win.
With the Gold Coast Suns having only beaten Collingwood the previous week, it was great to defeat them on their home ground. They are a very good football side, who are well coached under Guy McKenna.
We did waste a lot of opportunities earlier in the game, but fortunately we improved by the fourth quarter.
Heath Scotland was fantastic with 32 possessions. Expect to see a lot more of him between now and the end of the season. Ed Curnow was also impressive, playing well on Gary Ablett. While Ablett did manage 32 possessions, the majority of them didn't have a negative effect on us.
I was also very impressed by Charlie Dixon from the Suns, who had just returned from ankle surgery.
The Northern Blues also played well on Sunday, defeating Coburg by 58 points. Tom Bell, who played his first game since suffering a fractured jaw in round 15, was fantastic with 33 possessions. Other standout players included Dylan Buckley, Frazer Dale, Nick Graham and Aaron Joseph.
Looking ahead to this weekend's game against Fremantle, we know that it's going to be a challenge. They are a highly professional and disciplined side. This is an opportunity to see whether we really do deserve to be in the top eight.
The real test is in front of us.
