BANG!

And he's spot on.

The Ratten/Judd/Sticks(Pratt) period between 2008-2012 can be seen overall as wasted years.
A crap list, a continued over reliance on Judd, limited development of our kids, 1 finals win (against a team who fell into the 8 ) and 3 finals capitulations is all Ratts had to show for it.

There's your review not quite independent but a review nonetheless.

I would prefer that Bruce kept his thoughts in house.

There is no need for the rest of the football world to know what we are all thinking.

Nevertheless that is his style and hopefully something comes of it.

He is right to be upset with the recruiting but 'trading for a KP player' - how will that work? Does he want us to put all our eggs in one basket and trade picks/players for one player?

The reason we are shitting ourselves by trading the few decent players we have for Tom Boyd, is unlike Geelong we have no guarantee we will snag a few decent mid field picks at 30+ in the draft, to replace them with.

It's disappointing he's only gone for one part of the club, unless it was selective quoting from the journo.

I think he needs to speak up more but on other under performing areas.....such as the board and CEO.

Pretty much the only area that has worked well this year is the marketing/membership area....kudos to them because they've been up against it....they'll have to pull some more rabbits out of the hat next year

He needs to keep his mouth shut.
How often does he say something positive about the club? How many games does he go to?

It's incredibly simplistic to blame our position purely on recruiting, when our development is at least equally to blame (and more likely, much more to blame).
Was he blaming the recruiters last year when he wanted Ratts out?

But Swanny and Sticks already acted decisively to delete a word from Hughes' job title!

That will = flags!

Keeping things "internal" has done nothing for us in 12yrs. Great call re recruitment. Now to sack whoever is in charge of development. AFTER Sticks is given the boot.

Unless I am mistaken I understand that the last 5000 memberships were sold to only one or two "customers".

Why doesn't Bruce have anything to say about coaching appointments; Pagan, Ratten, Malthouse - the cost to the club, the haphazard manner in which they are appointed/the lack of process, how the club is controlled by factions?

I'm guessing he (like many of us) saw Ratts as a key player in both recruiting and development.
