Stupid having YARRAN as a sub. In the wet weather especially. Malthouse proving a point at the expense of the game is annoying me....... |

I'm sorry but I don't agree that he is teaching at the expense of the game. We are falling behind the pack and we need self belief. This is by winning and putting our best team on the park. Leave life lessons for the meeting rooms at Visy Park. So sick of losing...... |

Yarran may be the one to bring speed to the contest when the speed is off the game. He is a good finisher and that will be critical as players tire. Hope it works. |

Limited options for who gets the red vest, nothing wrong with Yarran getting it. Has to be a running player, Cachia an Curnow will have important roles, the other mids are essentially our core players we will rely on to win. Lucas was sub against Hawks, guess they thought he players better with a full game; he's still the primary alternative IMO. Betts, Garlett and Eddie are all sub options now we run a two-tall forward line, Eddie is our best small and Garlett is in red hot form this season, so Yaz loses out there. Bootsma is an option, but he's not far off being considered a tall. Not really an impact player either. Expecting White or Boots to come off though. |

..self belief is everyone believing in the team principles, and then everyone adhering to team principles.. ..adhere to that, and wins will come.. ..you need to stick to team principles, even when things look like they're slipping.. ..you can't chop and change to every shift in wind direction.. ..we're definitely building.. |

bax wrote: What did Mick say about how many times you should punish someone?? ![]() ..you're missing the point entirely.. ..the punishment was being dropped.. ..being the substitute is not a punishment.. ..it's just what it is.. ..and players all need to accept it's just part of the game now.. ..it's no slight, being the substitute.. |

I don't mind it and reckon that it would be purely tactical. People seem to have this idea that the notional "22nd player" has to be the sub when it really should not work like that. |

He got punished already. He is now just trying to show who is boss... Overkill in my opinion.. Should say to him, you know you did wrong, dropped him for the one game and now tell him to go out and prove himself and show some faith in him.. |

You know what............................ this is 100% brilliant! Totally agree with you. And to be honest, this is really all i care about this year. It was always going to take a while for the team to gel and adapt to a different coach and structure. And i really do think we are on the right track.......... Sure, games like the Essendon* one was frustrating, but as a whole, we are looking like we believe we can match it with the likes of Hawthorn / Geelong / etc. |
