...was detroit in '68 and they told me
all Carlton supporters'll meet the same fate
someday
cynical, and drunk,
and boring someone in some dark Lygon st cafe.

you laugh, they said
you think you're immune..go look at your blue and white hopes they're full of moon
you like players that fall short, and coaches,
to tell you all those pretty lies
pretty lies...
when ya gonna realise,'they're just
pretty lies.

(sorry..I digress..it's the title. thnx Joni.)

2005?

2005, you say?

But Fev kicked a late goal in Round 6 2009 to win the game.

I remember; I was jumping up and down and showing the finger to Hawks everywhere.

How can you people have forgotten???????????

Best game Paul Bower played for the club that day. I thought he'd turned the corner.

The last time we beat the hawks:
My son was the club mascot (ran through the banner with the boys) for the match. I have vision of it via Channel Nine. He was 8 years old. Even then, he looked tall enough that he could play - he is a tall lad!

We were being held quite convincingly but were still in the game. At 3 Qtr Time i was sitting next to Danny Boy and told him (more in faith than belief) that i thought we were slowly taking control of the game and were going to win. We did. Danny Boy then wrote a most memorable "Ghost" atticle capturing what happened that night.

This all feels like such a long time ago. My son is 16 and i am teaching him to drive.
Time to create a new chapter of history which involves a memorable Carlton victory!
