Football's night of nights - the Hall of Fame - will this year add one player to its list of 24 legends.

Last year it was the brilliant West Australian Barry Cable who was elevated to an immortal.

Who'd be a selector?

There's Jason Dunstall and Tony Lockett, the mercurial Gary Ablett Sr, Tasmania's finest in Royce Hart, maybe the game's most influential forward in Wayne Carey, and a fellow who played for Collingwood from 1906-22, Dick Lee, who topped the league goalkicking an incredible 10 times.

Of the rest, Malcolm Blight is a standout, as is Greg Williams....

Is it me just being biased, but how is it that Bruce Doull is not one of the first people thought of to be the next AFL Legend. Is it because he wasn't an extrovert, didn't have his share of off field problems or is it that too many who have had an association with Carlton are in that club already.

Bruce Doull lack's nothing against most already in the Legends club let alone the blokes being touted in that articles list.

Probably because they know he wouldn't front up to accept it. But he could always send Sacheen Littlefeather to accept on his behalf. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Bruce Doull is on par with that list of nominees, on a recent Open Mike episode, Royce Hart nominated Bruce Doull as his toughest opponent.

7 News tonight talked about the AFL Legends do at Parliament House; and talked about which of the possibles may be anointed an AFL Legend; and there were photos of Champs in the backdrop.

They included Royce Hart..Tony Lockett..Jason Dunstall..Bruce Doull; and Malcolm Blight that I noticed before the segue finished.

Notice Royce nominated Bruce as his hardest opponent.

Had to really, Doully had the better of him often.

Hart was a great player though.
