Tim Watson getting in early with his 'gee the Blue are looking good for next week". We won't fall for that sh1t again. Don't know if we'll win next week, but we'll be prepared for them. |

You people were happy with that? Every other team has belted them by well over 100 points, and again, we couldn't do it. Always the bare minimum with this side. Essendon* will trounce us again like they have done in our first encounters of the previous few seasons. |

I've seen bell get caught HTB more than any other carlton player. Not sure whether slow or lacks a little bit of awareness |

First half was a bit flat-footed and lazy, but the second half was much better. Jeff continues to be our most potent force up forward, and really like the look of Menzel. Hopefully we'll get a few guys back, and bring our best against those @#$%&! drug cheats next week. |

Really liked the balance of the side. Awkward game but overall happy. Notice how we didnt "bomb" the ball inside 50 with a mobile forward line? ![]() Menzel will be a star but needs a full pre season. Kruezer was good in the role that suits him best. Walker the same! Somone clone Henderson. Like Casboult, needs time. Still have Carrazzo, Judd, Betts, Lucas to come back. Not convinced Scotland & Robinson on our best side. Bootsma good and White filled key defensive role easily. Defence really starting to play well and provide run. Simpson thriving in the small defence role. Another step forward! ![]() |

I reckon some of the periods where we looked "off" might have been some experimenting and setting up and testing for next week. I'm not fussed by the margin, we made it through unscathed. Judging it against the margins other teams have beaten them by is just pulling yourself. The Giants went hard all match, didn't give much away in the first half. |

Surely as second ruckman and occasional forward Casboult ended Hampson's career at Carlton? I thought his around the ground work was quite good today with a few good solid defensive marks. Critics will point out he missed a few shots but at least they span like a drop punt should. Agree with earlier call that we were loose in the first half. Almost flippant use of the ball sometimes. Good third quarter. Nice forward line work through the game with a number of options. |

Liked Yarran, Garlett and Menzel up forward. Very classy and still have Betts to come in. Armfield, Henderson, Simpson all very solid workers again, Curnow good too. Kreuzer great all day. Tuohy good both down back and up forward. Gibbs, thanks Mick for allowing him to deliver the ball into the forward line instead of wasting him at half back. Walker great game, Robinson involved in everything. |

Add a few players and some experience & they'll be competing this time next year. Happy with the margin & our output. Gutted Fremantle just won. |
