I'm all for mergers, but losing 'Carlton' is a no go.

Never really thought of Melb as a potential merger partner.

I don't think they have the grit to succeed and would just as likely drag us backwards.

28 Premierships, does have a certain ring to it.

Having G Lyon considered a club great might take the gloss off a tad.

Will it mean our training base will relocate out woop woop to Casey fields??

As a side note, seriously, of all the bad decisions the Demons have made recently, having your training base a 60 minute drive from your home ground is absolute top shelf lunacy.

We get pick 12 back for Brock McLean.

Barassi finally gets to have coached Melbourne to a premiership.

While we're at it, amalgamate the Melbourne Rebels into the fold as well. Call them the Melbourne Blues. Retain the AAMI Park base. Have a proviso in the deal that Harold Mitchell comes back in an official capacity.
