The biggest thing to come out of the interview for me was his realisation that he can't impose his game plan on this playing group. At least not right now.

Prepared to adapt to the personnel he has at his disposal however with a defensive bias.

Guess time will tell whether this is a good or bad thing.

Not sure what it says about our players though :yikes:

Got the impression Mick doubts he has the cattle capable of playing his plan A - plan A out the window !

Interesting year ahead......

No doubt he is happy to see we have half a squad of half back flanker types.
Talls that cant play
and a midfield that looks ok on paper but doesnt run both ways.

Personally i bellieve he has the basis of a group that does suit his style if he can develop them ... its just not going to happen in a few short weeks

Better than Pagan, plan a doesn't work, revert to plan a!

Mick won't throw it out the window just acknowledges every group of players is different.

Probably, seeing we've previously sold black backpacks and other items of black merchandise. :banghead:

Teaching them to stick a tackle would be a good start.

Nursing the players through a pre season to make sure they are healthy could be costly if they have all forgotten how to get physical and stick a tackle.

First you stick the tackle, then you increase the pressure, then you force the turnover then you score the goal.

Hopefully he realises he is doing this Carlton gig for all the wrong reasons and moves on sooner rather than later. This week will be all about Mick as per usual.

Sticking tackles or lack of is a habit youre right...... we have accumulated some terrible habits over the years.
Kicking around corners when you can straighten up
Not running hard enough.
Giving away needless free kicks in the backs etc.
Running one way.

The club has relied on single persona rises... They need to understand... getting MAlthouse will work when we have created a great footy environment around him...
and thats not going to happen with the guys on the board led up with the great man Sticks Kernahan.

We need more money... and a stronger infrustructure...
Better drafting
development
trading
coaches

etc etc etc

Geeez footy has come a long way hasnt it???

The club is hoping everything will just work and they will make more money as a result without doing all the small things and big things it is going to take,

Welcome to medicrity Carlton style.

However i feel its early and wont be a wipeout.... we will become thereabouts !!... winning 20 by 2020 ... or a single flag......??? FORGET IT!!!
