Carlton has not ruled out Stephen Kernahan remaining as president next season.

Quote:
Kernahan had said after a board meeting in September he would retain the top role until the end of this year, when it was expected he would be replaced by businessmen Luke Sayers or Ahmed Fahour.

But there is feeling that Kernahan, captain of the Blues' team of the century and one of their iconic figures, would be the ideal man to be in charge next season when the club celebrates its 150th anniversary.

I have no problem with Sticks staying longer. Seems to be doing a lot of good things and certaintly has the club's best interest in mind and heart. I'm sure however others within TC will not agree, so this thread will go down one road with no u-turn unfortunately.

Surely the 150th is just as good a time to install a new president as it is to keep an old one.

And, more to the point, if Sticks is not president next year why does that preclude him from being involved in any 150th celebrations?

Indeed such ceremonial roles are perfect for for a guy like Sticks.

Let's get a business man with some vision and ideas about turning visions into reality at the top. Let's be leaders again, on and off the field.

Seems we've got no dramas parachuting in coaches but struggle with the same approach at board level, at least since Pratt died.

This.

Lots of good things and has the club's best interests at heart. Lets also see if we can play all our games at Princes Park again. We're Carlton. Flower the rest!

Oh, and kick the bloody thing no 31. Kick it! Stop flowering around with handball. And man up FFS!!!

Where's a phone booth I can go into, drink a cuppa Robur, and type a letter to the club on my electric typewriter. Viva le future!!!!!

We keep a guy on as President because it's our 150th anniversary and there will be ceremonial/feelgood duties for him to do?

Well this is a good test for our new leaders.

If Kernahan manages to stay another year, they're all worthless.
