The back six are not premiership material. Duigan and Tuohy are playing at B grade, Henderson is borderline, Jamison is good but not reliable enough to keep his head.

The forward structure is *still* a work in progress. Hampson can't kick, Casboult is a lost sheep, and we still rely on fast break situations.

Our tap work and centre bounces are confounding. The clearances are either feast or famine.

Slightly disappointed in Murphy's first game as captain. I still felt Judd was the team's leader.

Not the worst, bute it looks like it's going to be a learning curve season.

Was that Gibbs best game ever in terms of influence?

Can't let a team get 7 goals up and expect to win.

We are still one of the skinniest team in the competition, even GWS and Gold Coast have players bigger than ours.

Disgraceful first half. Seriously woeful. Midfield got smashed and we were opened up big time.

Got scored against far too easily.

Cost us the game.

Had too many tonight that aren't up to standard. Duigan, Tuohy, Joseph, McLean. Others that should be didn't perform as such.

Even tougher loss when you consider the next month :yikes:

I am seriously underwhelmed with the level of endevour shown. This team seriously needs a reality check.

I think Walker, Gibbs, Kreuzer and Judd had fantastic games.

Lots of guys also did well for the majority of it (Lucas, Henderson, Hammer, Betts, Garlett).

There are obvious issues we need to fix up going forward. We can all see that. Forward structure and clearances - they are the big ticket items.

All in all, good to see the team run the game out compared to Richmond. We were poor in our disposal and ball handling up until the last qtr. Good to see them fight it out when we really shouldn't have won from the position we were in during the third qtr.

I am convinced we have the cattle (minus a really good forward) and just need it to come together in the head.

Don't understand why Laidler was emergency....was it arrogance by the MC not selecting him?? He does straighten us up down back IMO & is a bit of a General down there

Shaun Grigg needs to pull his head in. For a bloke that went to a club for easy games, had way to much to say, and way too little influence. People will say winners are grinners, but seriously, what a flowering flog.

Please win North Melbourne to make this round somewhat bearable.

Perhaps, just perhaps 'structure' is way overrated.

Get ball. Kick straight. Tackle. Work your guts out. Good bounce of the ball.

Really do need to take a "big picture" view of where we are going and the changes that are being made.

Anyone remember the criticsm Ross Lyon has copped in his first years at St Kilda and Freo?

You could see the hesitation in their decision making and ball use. My hope at the start of the year that we would reach half way at 7-5. If we do we will be in a very good position. I expect our second half of the year to be a heap better than our first half.

MM is also sorting out who will make it and who wont. He is also getting big games into talented kids. Bootsma will benefit hugely from tonight. MM will back kids like him in. Personally I think thats great and will benefit us in the future. It is guys like Graham, Bootsma, Menzel, Watson etc that the improvement must come.

IMO Duigan is not up to it and Tuohy is struggling. Jamison is overrated and McLean is so slow. There are others on our list that can play their roles better than them.
