Just watched the footy show for the first time in a while as I had gone off it due to brayshaw and his arrogance.

Sam Newman had a ladder set up on stage and added teams as the teams were read out. After reading Carlton's game out he said he would hold onto the blues and crows cards.

At the end he pulled the Blues card out and stuck it on the top of the ladder and said this team is about to go bang!

Say what you will about Sam but he is usually spot on with his footy predictions......

We have all been waiting for it for some time and all the signs are there for the whole team to have a break out year as opposed to a player or two!!

Go Blues!!!

I have us finishing about 7th

Backline - good, although a lot will depend on Hendo & Jamo staying fit, the latter is the main concern as I think he will be the kind of player we will be lucky to get 14 games a year out of from here on. Watson is still an unproven commodity as far as backup is concerned. On the plus side great to have Laidler back & as we all know we've got half back flanker types covered

Midfield - We've got some absolute guns but let's face it all sides do. Reprogramming them from the Ratten (& Pagan) years is Malthouse's major task & I can't see it happening quickly

Forwards - It's the talls that concern me. I like Casboult as much as anyone on here but he has played 6 games, Rowe 0. Hampson IMO is overrated by some Carlton supporters & has probably played half a dozen good games in 5 years. Small/medium forwards - tick. Hope Yarran is one of them in 2013.

7th.

Same, but I don't think the Crows are really trying

Reserving all hope and expectations till mid season after pretty much having them all annihilated last year.

Given our start to the season if we are top 4 by the end of round 5 then anything is possible....

...including #17

Many aspects will have to go very well for us (injuries mainly) to be in top four.
Fingers crossed!

If we win at least 3 of our first 5 games and have a good run with injuries I'm confident we will make the top 4.
On the other hand if things don't go our way we could easily miss the top 8.
Our playing list (with no injuries) is at least as good as the Swans last year so anything is possible I guess.

I reckon 16 of our first 22 games and top 4 is ours.

If you lot think Sam really expects us to finish on top than think again.

I reckon that fat head McGuire rang him and told him to put us there just to piss off mick.

Get ready coz the lead up for round 2 will be all about mick and ed and it will be a very messy week.

I can't wait till we bend them over and see fat head and figjams faces.

Just got bailed up by a Collingwood supporter at work who genuinely predicts a Carlton Vs WCE grand final.

7th.

Backline will be ok, midfield great.
On last week's game forward line is the key to the season: Waite with one of Casboult or Rowe will be good enough. Don't think top 4 any chance with minimal Waite.
