How many coaches are we going to go through before they start fixing the problems that have been occurring since 2002. 1) They consistently donont man up! 2) They turn the ball over far too often and make too many elementary mistakes. 3) Their forward line is constantly a hit and miss affair. Bombing it in hope into the forward 50 is not a valid attacking strategy! 4) Too many of their experienced and well paid players go missing too often. It is not acceptable to have one good game every three or four weeks! 5) As good as Betts, Garlett and some of our other forwards can be at times, the Blues need a strong key forward. Waite has potential but seems to be injured too often and other tall forwards we have used are not consistent enough. This is something the Blues should have addressed by drafting aggressively at the end of last year. There are many areas and mistakes which I am sure people can name but it needs to come down to culture also. Losing at Carlton has become acceptable and this is something that the great Carlton teams of the past would never have stood for. The Blues of this last decade too often either don't try (as was witnessed by the deplorable performance against the Gold Coast) or they start believing theirs and other hype about them. Rather than building up this team by inflating their potential Malthouse and others need to break this team down and make them prove their worthiness as contenders for a final spot let alone flag contenders, which is still a distant memory and a seeming even more distant dream. |

Sakc Malthouse!! I wonder if the OP was at the game, for if you were, you could clearly see nobody gave a shit from about 10 mins into the third. When players came to the bench such as Yarran directly turning over the ball for a goal. No phone conversations. No analysis or coaching. Simply, the eyes are on Round 1... As they should be. |

No key forward..... No premiership..... Simple as that!! No matter how brilliant Mick is a coach, without a decent tall forward we are no hope. Hence why we willing to lose a player two to fit Coke in. Micks around the boundary works with two tall towers working in tandem clunking marks outside and inside 50. We got nothing |

Wouldn't read to much into after half time, the Bears were at a different stage of pre-season much like we were under Pagan. We have Rowe, 206, Hammer and Kreuz none of them can go forward with much impact, worrying. Actually none of them are elite rucks either. Casboult when he has a poor defender can at least get it to ground in front. None of our mids Judd, Murph, Gibbs, Brock can go forward with any impact. Carrazzo, Bell and Ellard seem to be more effective drifting forward. With the boundary line focus, maybe Yarran needs to be the forward we recruited, because he seems lost. White seems not useful forward or back Waitey is the main man for our 2013 chances very worrying. |

Apart from Murphy and cameos from the rest our mid field was smashed. Yarran is a waste so far back. If nothing else he is too loose. I thought pre season you experiiment, try Yarran on a wing, anywhere but the full back line. Apart from that I thought we maintained our intensity until half way through the last quarter. It was disappointing that we just made no impression. The big but of course is that it is only pre season but sort out entry into the forward line PLEASE. |

To those of you who think I am jumping the gun as it is only a pre-season game. I have not lost hope for this year but the problems that happened in that game keep reoccurring. They seem to be symptomatic of the Blues and it doesn't seem to matter who we have as coach. Either get the players who can do the job or fix the problems that are there but don't just keep serving us the same rubbish each year and expect us to willingly fork out our money for memberships, and yes I have been one for the last 14 years and will continue to do so but it doesn't mean I can't be frustrated at a lack of progress. |

I can't believe we're still sitting on zero premiership points. Disgraceful. |
