We must plan without him. Structure our forward line without him there. Simply too fragile to rely on! |

It is what it is. We seem to have all our developing talls up and running so it's not all doom and gloom. He makes way for one of our future stars: Casboult (who I believe is AFL ready) Rowe (who I believe is AFL ready) Hampson (who I believe is AFL ready and is 1 of the 3 ruckmen likely to miss if all 3 fit) Mitchell isn't ready imo ........OR Henderson is a quality AFL player who may play forward if Watson stakes a claim in the backline As long as we win the midfield and they play a good defensive game (accountable) we have the talls to get us in the 8 ....with good delivery and good game plan everyone understands. Then towards the end of the year if Waite can be ready for finals and hits form, I'm sure he'd be a better prospect forward than all those mentioned above. We'd be licking our lips...if he could get through the last 6-7 games let alone the last 3 games. ![]() I don't think we will be depending on him this year, and despite the 3 year contract offered to an injury prone player, I think he's worth having on our list because if he comes good when we most need him we wont care how many games he missed during the year.. |

well said BB, who cares if he misses round 1, get him right, don't rush him and if he's 'up and about' it will be a real bonus |

Relax guys, I'm sure he's using the finest medical minds and state of the art rehabilitation technology that Lygon St nightspots have to offer. |

Using 2012 as an indicator, Waite's 11 (or 10.5 given he was injured in Rd 7) games resulted in 6 wins. He kicked goals in all but one game, the early Essendon* loss. He kicked 3 or more goals on five occassions (3:2 winning record). He was leading goal kicker for Carlton on four occasions (2:2 record) He was among the best players in 6 games (3:3 record). Of the games he didn't play, not one KPP or Ruckman kicked more than 2 goals in a match (4:6 losing record). Better hope one of our other tall guys come through this year in the absence of Waite. He is still the best tall forward Carlton has, and the above doesn't take into account his work up the ground, his I50 entries and contested marks. |

They're developing. I like what I see. The problem comes with the early games Richmond, Collingwood, Geelong, West Coast (A), Adelaide in the first 5 rounds. Especially 2-5, I really hope at least one of those you mention fires. A Casboult / Hampson combination gets my vote at present in the absence of Waite. A Casboult/Waite combination gets my vote on an injury free list. |

We can use him the way Geelong used Ottens in 2010. Ease him through the first half of the season, and have him as the ace up our sleeves coming into the Finals. |

Doesn't he normally save this until it's apparent we can't win without him? |
