For a great sense of what is building, it is worth watching this interview.

Quality and honesty all over. This bloke will leave no stone un-turned in order to get the best out of what's on his plate.

Apparently he is making a real difference.

MM plus RW = a great plus for the CFC.

Agree, a great interview and sounds like a quality person.

The interview can also be found on the CFCTV youtube (just in case you have difficulty with the CFC site which I normally do with videos)

I am starting to get excited.

There seems to be a resolve in all of what I am seeing this year.

I can't wait.

As a supporter, it's nice to have the feeling that your coaches know what they're doing.

Imagine how good it must feel for the players.

People with deep experience who also work to stay current are a great asset. Much better than turning the footy ops over to a whole bunch of first-timers and people on a steep learning curve.

Malthouse and Wiley look like good mentors for groups of young men. Something I think we've sorely lacked since Parkin's glory days.

Great interview...great insight into the plan behind the man.

Everyone is in Focus mode.

There seems to be a plan.

RW is focussed on improvement for everyone CFC.

Players are focussed to execute the plan.

Everyone is up....focus on wins...and being ready for round 1.

Speaks very well and can probably stand up to MM and not be browbeaten or intimidated. He doesn't really need coaching so is doing it for the right reasons but has been out of footy a while and hasn't been involved as a coach with Mick for a decade (I think). We have chopped and changed with assistants for years, hopefully we can finally get it right. Certainly Wiley seems to have have really good man management and communication skills which is very good. And his record as a player at Perth is outstanding. Between 74 and 86 he played 8 seasons at Perth (with 5 in between at the Tiges) and won 8 b and f's - so he knows a thing or two about consistent performance

Brett Ratten won 3 B&Fs (equal 3rd highest number in Carlton's history), including one in a premiership year.

Agree Moshe, but poor old Brett couldnt put a sentence together properly.

It is about communication.

On the other extreme (of Ratten's inability to communicate succinctly and fluidly) I was coached by Sam Kekovich who was a great speaker, but the problem was in country footy is that the country boys didn't know what the hell he was talking about. Keka didn't address the team in laymans English.

MM and Wiley know what they are doing and know how to deliver the adjectives and with that the message. That will make a huge difference. But I think the biggest difference is that MM and RW know what is needed to win finals footy and they are not reinventing the wheel or learning on the job.

Was it hard to get Keka to shut up?

He was not shy.

He was entertaining.

He was a big man and big personality.

That's all one can say on a public forum.

I really enjoyed his era as coach...we were more succesful without him though.

I agree with most posters, he comes across as a very well spoken, confident person.
I like the way the club has been pretty low key this off season (after MM's appointment).
No predictions just going about it quietly.
