Sad to hear of the passing of Ronnie Auchettl. Ronnie was a hard at it player with the Blues from the mid to late 60s.
A powerful kick of the footy (early model Mathew Watson), his drop kicks were probably on a par with Ian Robertson's.
While he didn't play a lot of senior footy (he had blokes like Barassi and Serge ahead of him) he, along with others like, Neil Chandler, Rick McLean, Bill Bennett and Terry Board, played the game the Barassi way, HARD.

R.I.P. Ron.

IIRC, in the late 60's the VFL picked a team of reserves players to play the Sydney Football League and Ron was selected as Captain.

Very sorry to hear of his passing, he was something of a favorite of mine.

From the suburb of Merlynston; Ron Auchettl played 17 games for Carlton between 1966-69; and kicked 8 goals.

He was born 04-08-1946....184cm and 84kg; and wore Guernsey No.41....a tough Utilty player with a muscular physique.

One of today's Tributes comes from the Whittlesea Football and Netball Club; where he was a Coach.
