With the upcoming AGM what do we want to see?

Board members and potential board members read this site. What do we, the members want from them, and equally what messages do we want them to hear?

Who intends to vote, or abstain from voting and why?

I'm happy to pass on an aggregated list of issues and to attempt to get responses. Of course quality of responses and engagement will depend on quality of input.

I would like to move a motion that if a board appoints a key member of staff and make an error in judgement then they are all equally personally liable for any financial payout to that terminated employee.

I'd like to see a trained bear brought in for home games, and I'd like to see it wrestling Captain Carlton before the game or at half time inside a giant ring of navy blue fire. They would also play that background music from Star Trek when Kirk fought Spock to the death intersped with the club theme song.

This could be used for a number of fan interaction purposes. If Captain Carlton survives the bear's enslaught, we kick to the Punt Rd end, other end if he can't stand under his own power. The number of minutes he survives will be used in interpreting which player is the starting sub for the day's game.

Should this become an OHS issue later in the year, past players who underperformed could be requested to fill in. Late game in the year on a cold day at Etihad against Port Adelaide or someone unappealing? Who cares, Lance Whitnall's going to jump a barbwire fence on a motorbike and then eat a shitload of pies.

We can then use the bear for sacrifical offerings at the AGM to a golden statue of Richard Pratt, imploring us to remember the principle of not honouring false idols.

It's all about entertainment....and filling in time before the big game...and if we can achieve results from it...why not!

That should make up for the loss of the reserves and Under 19's before the game.

2 directors are keen for feedback including intention/ desire to vote.

They are endeavouring to understand impact of social media & online sites on membership and the club.

I've been asked about TC, CSC and other fan based sites by these directors.

We have a chance to engage - ignore this opportunity and then whinge would seem to fit neatly with many on TC!

What impact though, OR?

Most of those on here are rusted on - buy the membership year in, year out. At worst, the fallout of something negative occurring is that they won't spend "as much" the season after. As I've mentioned previously - there'd be lucky to be 10% of the users on here as registered to vote in a board election.

Seen a handful of people at most who've threatened to cancel memberships permanently or until minor action is resolved. Most don't seem to follow through or do so for long.

The demographics on here are young educated professionals to high income earners approaching or at retirement age. Disposable income, and its seldom withheld, even in spite of the past decade.

What is more telling is who doesn't post here. Corporate sponsors (potential or existing) don't post here, the influential coterie groups don't post here, nor do corporate heavyweights just waiting to join the board. I'm sure they lurk once or twice if that, I doubt they're alarmed by the proletariat uprising on here.

Plenty of money going nowhere fast, no voting rights to change things.

Just appreciate the fact OR has been asked to approach us and we have the opportunity to have a voice direct to 2 board members.

If you don't believe it's going to have an impact, that's fine, ignore it and move on.

My concerns have been with the poor response to and handling of membership queries in the past. I can see more money has been spent in marketing, how much of that is to address this problem and what changes have been made?

How are we going to win back disgruntled members? Plenty didn't renew memberships last season and weren't phoned to to find out why.

We've had a sustained period without success, what are we doing to win young supporters? Anyone under 25.

Restore voting rights to Long Distance Members.

I'm better off just buying tickets to the games I go to than getting Long Distance Membership.

The only value of the Long Distance Membership was the vote, and this has been stripped.

I am no longer a member due to this.

Was mentioned at last years AGM that voting rights to Long Distance Members will be restored this year.

A couple of things from me OR. Thanks for allowing.

Culture at CFC - are we investing in this area? Are we developing an environment that players are banging on the door to come to us? From the outside, we are just a mediocre club. We don't have that aura as a club to be feared as we once were.

Membership & Revenue - if we're supposed to be one of the BIG 4 in victoria, we are clearly No.4. How does a team like Richmond who hasn't played finals for over 11 years for two years in a row surpass us in membership? Yes we have grown membership albeit very marginally. Even Hawthorn are bigger than us @ 60K. We should be bigger than them!!! Are we exploring other markets?

My list of grievances :

Membership: CFC has become a domain for Pratts, Mathiesons, and a select few. I am not surprised that we struggle break 50 k members. The message coming from the club via its actions is 'Give us the membership money & f%^k Off'. The membership campaign is slick and beautiful but it needs to be backed up consistent actions. Small things such as incorrect open training sessions times, late delivery of membership cards, and bigger actions such as manipulating the voting process and constitution to suit Board's agenda without consulting the membership. They tell me that we are not important. If the club wants to grow then it should start treating the membership base as stakeholders and not an ATM.

Media: In the last year multi-media communications have definitely improved, better late than never, however it is disappointing to see guys such as Coutts continue on.

Debt: After 10 years CFC's debt is pretty much the same despite significant increase in revenue and membership. To me, this demonstrates lack of imagination especially when clubs such as Melbourne and Richmond have reduced or demolished their debt with member support.

CFC Museum: That the idea is commercially unviable, stems from lack of desire and imagination. Get sponsors, staff it with volunteers, tell Swann to find a way because he seems to be getting paid loads to make excuses. And a CFC museum is not about directly making money, it is about displaying our heritage and enhancing the CFC brand.

I look forward to some positive actions on the points above.

I'd also add how tiresome it is watching our club's brand continually attacked without a whimper in response (except the occasional Sticks "@#$%&! the rest" line, or in the case of our VISY dealings an official bulletin from an unknown writer). Collingwood get hammered as much as we do, but as much as I despise the man, Eddie fights tooth and nail to protect the brand and use it to the club's advantage ("us vs them"). We sit back on our hands, roll our eyes at journos and then wonder why people aren't signing up.

I just hope that the meeting will be visited by well-educated supporters with genuine honest feedback about the state of things, and not a) Sycophants who think everything about the club is wonderful and better than the rest, and b) Paramecium-brains who post "BRING BACK FEV!!!!111" on facebook.
