Is this the first time we've appointed a coach under the "always plays well against us" rule?

Can't say it's the most inspired appointment, but I spose I'm in no place to judge.

This is a bit out of left-field to say the least

Bizarre appointment.
What are his strengths that make him a suitable coach??
Ling, Black, Bolton, Mcleod all say no, we end up with Brad Green

What about the "used to barrack for us" rule?

..give him a pair of boots..!!..

..he's actually a smart half fwd, with a good understanding of the game.. ....how that translates to his ability to develop i'm not sure, and will have to wait and see.. ..but he's definitely a stand-up sort of person..

I agree that his credentials for the "development" side of things seem pretty solid at a glance. It's the midfield side of it that I'm scratching my head over. Yes, I know he played there a bit and didn't do too badly, but given our main midfield problem is toughness, clearances and accountability, I can't see him having the answers to that. Would've thought he'd be preferred as a forward/kicking coach (SAKC BARKER!!!). He's welcome to prove me wrong though.

Our goal celebrations in junk time when we're ten goals down are going to be off the charts...

Nah, I'm cut......there's Big Brother contestants out of work, we have a rising level of unemployment, and this doyen of mediocrity gets to avoid the ignomy of going down to the Centrelink queue every fortnight to report goings on of sweet @#$%&! all? Did we decide that a Melbourne Cup sweep was too cliched and we pulled this representative of near enough is good enough out of a hat instead? Bring on Jeff Farmer as boxing coach.....get Mark Johnson in to replace John Donehue and have Kouta look on.....is Sean Denham doing anything?

Sadly, he'll fit right in.

- Paul Roos is a premiership coach...... Which most unsuccessful club did he spend majority of playing career at?
- Ross Lyon came from the same club........ He's no slouch.
- Alastair clarkson played 80 games with kangas and melbourne..... Premiership coach

All three didn't come from successful clubs nor have much finals experience and have all become successful afl coaches.

Fair dinkum, give the bloke a chance. He could be a fantastic addition to the coaching group
I'm always willing to give everyone a chance and see how they stack up. Good luck Brad
