Matt White out, Matt McDonough in for Tigers today. Tuck and debutant Graham the subs

Disappointing

Glad I decided not to go. I was keen on going to watch Graham.

No need now. :banghead: :banghead:

I actually believe playing kids or debutants as subs is not a good ploy.

Agree, 1 qtr is no way to play your first game.

Never seen the point in making a debutant the sub. It's like saying "we want you to play, but we don't really want you to play". If they're good enough to make their debut, they are good enough to start.

In the ideal scenario Graham will be a ten year player for us. I don't have a problem with him being sub a number of times in his first year or two, he's a kid making his way and I'm happy to see him eased in. Too many people here expecting him to be a superstar straight up.

frustrating, i was looking forward to watching him but we know he will be around for at least next year

Mick needs to see others more than Graham right now

He might have to play most of the game if someone goes down early.
It does happen, you know.

Would have like to see Graham first up but at least the sub isn't a tagger.

The best sub we've utilized this year was Eddie Betts. Sure hands and good skills when everyone else was cooked.

O. Wines the sub for Port today. B. Kennedy was the sub at Collingwood, there are plenty of others too. Someone has to be with the current rules. As said above, injuries or concussion can lead to almost a full game.
I would have liked to see him play a full game (though he could have ended up being subbed) but it does allow a player to come on a little fresher which may lead to easier possessions & a confidence boost along the way at senior level.

Our midfield is flowered at the minute, no Judd, Murph struggling, Carrots out etc. Graham, a ball magnet in really good form starts as sub. Honestly. Anyway hope my man Tommy Bell takes up the slack, I like the boy, he'll hurt a few today.

So what if Graham is sub.
People are reacting as if Diesel Williams is starting as sub.

The hope I have for today is that we play the MCG better than any other ground.

It's also against Richmond who we have a good record against and if they aren't switched on and give us some room to run our smalls might cut them up.

Here's hoping.

I remember my first senior game as a 19 year old. I sat on the bench for 2.5 quarters and there was no sub rule in the vafa. I was just happy to be there.

There's plenty of time for nick to show his wares.
