haven't read the press release, but if there isn't reference to golden handcuffs I'll be a little disappointed. |

The title of the article upsets me. It's not like he is ever going anywhere else. |

Camel, this kid has been on an AFL list for 3 years (I think), playing football as a professional during that time, so why has he still not learnt to kick the ####### thing when its his full time job? Its not that hard, I was learning to kick on my opposite foot when I was 7 ffs, its not that bloody hard for anyone with a reasonable amount of coordination. |

At least he can mark. That already makes him better than Chris Dawes. |

Big hopes for Levi. If I remember correctly fev was a pretty hopeless kick for goal in his first couple of years (other than the millennium game obviously.) He was a great lead and mark but just couldn't kick straight. It wasn't until he changed his grip to the left hand higher right hand lower and got his slow walk in routine together that he became a great kick for goal. Can anyone remember the coach that worked with fev on this routine? I'm pretty sure we got someone in specifically for this. Might be worth a try with Levi |

I'm glad he has re-signed. Can be a focal point and isn't afraid to use his body and strength. Hopefully injury free, big pre-season and we need our coach's to stand up an specialize some attention on his kicking. We can all see his deficiencies but for !@#$ sake we need our coach's to do the job the are paid for. |

Fev was one of the best kicks for goal That people had seen. Just took some coaching to get over the nerves of kicking at afl level |

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it Ross Lyon that developed Fev's kicking style with him? |

dane wrote: Levi has massive upside. Has shown lots already. Will be a star for us. ..i agree, the upside is obvious.. ..from earlier posts on here he's mentioned as having an accurate year in front of sticks at tac level.. ..figuring more 'burb grounds argueably increase difficulty with wind factor.. ..unless he kicked a shipload of OoB's or kicks that didnt make it.. ..but goals/points ratio was good.. .... ..he has great hands, and splits packs in the best possible way, vs some big lugs that just cannon into them crashing them to no discernible advantage.. ..this kid often hits packs spilling defenders and retaining his feet.. .. ..runs directly at the pace, with pace, leaps for the mark and meets it 'square'.. ..kicking action can be fixed i believe, with enough discipline from teacher and student.. ..apparently hasnt been playing too long, so his bad habits wouldn't be as entrenched [possibly].. ..has presence up frwd.. |

A huge change in body shape/weight distribution and 2 PCL injuries would have impacts on developing a consistent kicking style |

He can kick in normal play but put goal posts and a man on the mark in front of him he looks like an 8 yo. All problems can be worked on and improved. The old "if you can't do x by age y you never will" is being shown to be wrong every day. GWS and Moshe have pointed to books about the myth of talent and there is also the book by Norman Doidge regarding brain plasticity, The Brain that Changed Itself. All it takes is a sh1tload of practice. |
