a little surprised to be honest, but he's been a terrific player for us since he came across for the pies hoping there's plenty of competition for his spot next year |

When Scotland left Collingwood, I don't recall it being due to any problems with Malthouse, but simply that he didn't see a regular role for himself in the Magpies mid-field at the time. Collingwood released him and there seemed to be no angst on either side. |

He just has a lot of time for Brett Ratten, so people put 2 + 2 together and get 5. |

Slowed down a bit this year, but luckily with no injuries still put in a marvellous consistent effort playing every game bar one. I'm anticipating a houlihan last year for him though; veteran status, wont cost much, he will provide great leadership off field and keep the youngies on their toes. I think the extra year is about loyalty (unlike demons who ripped the soul out of their club disposing of their vets). |

Not sure though how much he has left in the tank but he'll provide valuable off-field leadership experience too... |

Sometimes these sort of long tern players who have stayed relatively injury free have a renaissance in the last year or two of their careers, like Richo, Dustin Fletcher and Andrew MacLeod come to mind. Scotto deserves another year, well done to him. |

He was consistently among the top 11 players at the club this year in my view. The blind round-the-corner kicks are his worst attribute. The rest is good though. Suppose if we have a decent tall forward those blind hospital kicks might still be a 50/50 shot. |

Scotto deserves another year, well done to him. ..true enough, although that could have been him last season.. ..very consistent player, has lost a bit of class.. ..with proper structures and systems he'll still be valuable, especially when kicking long [off either foot] to position.. |

Great news. Quality player. He and the new coach have GF experience together and they are together again. Omen? I noticed he slowed down a bit at times, but never stopped busting a gut. I think islowing down (a wee bit) has to do with ageing and the length of time he's on the ground as a midfielder. I hope we manage him in the rotations a bit more than we did this year. He is very important to us next year, and I believe MM will take us from 10th to the GF in 2013, and Scotto will be one of the leaders who will drive the kids to produce their best because this is his last chance for a flag, and opportunities are so rare. Good luck with the 2 milestones next year (the 250 AFL and the 200 CFC games), and I hope we send you off with a premiership medallion. |

He's just about the only player on our list who can kick on either side and hit a target.... Well done Scotto. Tear it up. |
