Don't remember exactly what he said, but it was notably different to Ratt's style of giving stats and numbers. Hopefully he can inspire the players to get extra performance out of them. Something about mountains, and goals that you can never quite reach, so you keep coming back? He does look old grro. Thought the same thing. I just hope the players thrive under his stewarship, and we get a great improvement. |

Here's the notes I made via twitter; I did miss a bit in the middle humouring my boss who was trying to talk work with me.  -- Sticks: Mick has been appointed coach for next 3 years. Mick: A great sense of honour to coach this terrific club. Mick: Am indebted already to Stephen, Greg and the board for the opportunity. Sticks: Assistant coach positions still ongoing. Mick: Structure under Brett Ratten is different to one I would like. Not personnel, structure. Mick: At the appropriate time (I will speak to Travis Cloke). RT @SammyHeraldSun: Journalist: will you be making a play for Travis cloke? MM: "Absolutely". Sticks: I think he (Cloke) will sign with Collingwood, if he decides to leave we'll be interested. Sticks: Very happy with the deal we did, beneficial to both parties (on MM salary) Mick: I will back myself in any team to get the best out of every individual. Mick: I want them (players) to have a common goal, I want them to dream big. Mick: I don't want people standing behind me, I want them standing beside me. Sticks: This is a good day, Mick's record speaks for itself. Hope he can take us to long term success. Mick: I'm delighted, absolutely delighted.
