Has been mentioned in several threads, but perhaps deserves one of its own.

Not sure what kind of coaching advice he would give, but was definitely a composed and clever midfielder who took a good level of endurance as his only asset and turn himself into a quality player. That he went to Geelong as a FF prospect shows he probably has as good an understand of the game as you could want from a rookie coach.

His boundary commentary leaves a lot to be desired, but that can be said of any boundary rider as they seem to be forced to follow a very tight script.

Always has an opinion on how Bryce Gibbs needs to take his game to the next level in the midfield and with aggression. Get!

Harsh. I think he's one of the best boundary riders in the game.

None of them are much chop. He's good, but they have made such a mockery of what it was and could be.

On face value would be ideal - has the experience and knowledge of what it takes to break out of the mediocrity cycle and get to the elite level.

Ling as a player was just the sort of guy we needed. A tough in-and-under type who got his own ball, while stopping the opposition's best mid, and playing both ways.

We could do far FAR worse.

He's a big fan of Tom Bell that's for sure. Remember his reaction when Bell tackled that Bulldogs bloke near him on the boundary? LOL.
