Well done Jordan on getting a final in your first year of umpiring Obviously making better decisions with the whistle inyour hand than the decisions you made with the ball in your hand Seriously though Banno didnt leave a lot in the tank unlike some of the downhill skiers that are on our list at the minute. Great effort Banno. One of the best umps. Certaintly better than McBurney ![]() |

I agree with Keogh ![]() Nice guy, doing a shit job and going ok. But that was kicking in danger Banno. It's ok though, just save them up and pay us back in a game that matters. |

Watching from level 2 Lockett end behind the goals Sunday while Tex and Milney were going at each other with Jordan in close proximity. Many other umpires would have stepped in and paid a bullsh1t free ( Schmitt McBurney Margetts and previously Chamberlain and Vozzo) but Jordan just had a quiet word with them and left it alone. Play on, correct decision. Also loved it earlier in the year when he totally ignored Leroy Jetta squealing that he had been punched in the face with Jordan about 3 feet away. (He WAS punched in the face). Play on, correct decision. Does have a good feel for the game, pretty relaxed, but still surprised they give him Carlton games. He must be conscious of not being seen to favor his former club, especially when some of his former teammates are still playing. |

Yes good on you Banno. But it was a crap decision by umpire selectors to have him officiate in a game featuring one of his past sides. An ump in that circumstance could subconsciously favour their previous side or more likely sub consciously be more harsh on their previous side in order to avoid any criticism for favouritism. Going by Bannos account of the banter between him and Milne, he seemed to handle the issue admirably, but I still think he should not be placed in that position - were there no other games that he could have officiated in for the weekend? |

He certainly has adjusted to the different language used as an umpire. Very polite and composed when captured on the mic. |

Guys, if he had to officiate in a game where there were no old rivalries, bad blood or history with any of the players on the field, he'd probably have to be umpiring in another league. Might as well ignore all of that and place him where it's most convenient. |
