Given recent events will all players be in attendance(sans Whitehead) and if so will ther be factions???

Wonder if I'll get invited. I received a 1995 Carlton Premiership tie for the 10 year anniversary. Must of cost the club at least $5.

Went to the '99 flag reunion a few years back (was part of a GF ticket package I received as a gift....the breakfast was also included), and the damage from the Carey business seemed evident, but many were able to put it aside and just enjoy the day. Although I did notice Archer and Stevens kept their distance throughout the arvo.

We have a different set of circumstances and ones that can be patched up, and not as extreme...I'm sure when Ratten took the job on he would have known that it would someday come to an end, and being a favourite son of the club, he would have known the risks involved of taking on a coaching job at the club he played at.

Many of his premiership mates would understand that also.

Three years is a fair way down the track, and if they aren't friendly by then, hopefully they can put it aside for one day to celebrate a special anniversary of a great club moment...joyeux noel style.

Well the interview on Open Mike with SOS demonstrated he hasn't broken the AFL imposed omerta on mentioning the salary cap rorts.

People wonder why the AFL came so hard on Carlton as oppose to other clubs. Why SOS kept mentioning he is keeping his mouth shut in that interview and done everything the club and the AFL wanted. Got a great gig at GWS no point risking it for a scoop for Mike.

There has been suggestions that it was the side perks rather than the rorts that got the chief's knickers in a knot. For those that did accounting in the 70s and 80s and knew why companies would have large expense item under the category of "flowers" would understand.

No problems KK. The point I'm making is that most other clubs treat there volunteers a lot better than Carlton. I remember when I started in the stats box and we asked about why other clubs gave there stats team a lot more than we received, it was explained to us that the advantage of working at Carlton was the success we would celebrate. i think that was in 1997. I'm still waiting.

I understand what you are saying but when you put in hours and hours of work developing a Stats Application/Database and a Draft/Recruiting Application/Database, spend weekend after weekend away from your family I suppose you expect a little bit more.

It will. But it's not only me. If anybody knows any of the trainers that have been let go in the last few years talk to them. Ask them how they've been treated by certain senior staff members at the club. I'm lucky enough to work for a company that has a great culture. A culture of excellence, of reward and recognition. I haven't seen any evidence of this at Carlton for years.

As I mentioned in the "Carlton & when you were a kid" thread, I love the club and always will. But I will not attend games or buy a membership until certain individuals are removed from the club. Hopefully I can do this next year.

Interesting Freddy. A few years ago at a footy club I used to play at I was also on the committee. We had a couple join the club who had relocated to Brisbane from Melbourne to retire and they wanted to get back into footy. They had both "worked" at Collingwood for 20 plus years both heavily involved as volunteers and the fella was particularly involved in quite a vital capacity.

After Eddie took over they were both "sacked". So bitter were they that they no longer follow Collingwood and are paid up Brisbane members, love their volunteer work at Brisbane and do not have a kind word to say about the Collingwood Football Club to anyone who cares to listen.

Tell us more please. Really interested to know. You don't have to name names.

I find myself in a difficult position. Over 20 years you are told a lot of things in confidence. I have no contact with the guys that confided in me. But if anybody knows these guys and they are they are given permission to elaborate then that would be fine. I have no problem commenting on any observations made or statements heard I have had personally experienced. I hope you understand.
