Well there is a poll for everything else.

l also love the impatience of some people, so l pose this question.

How many years before we get Top 4 and will you be happy with it?

I say 3 years.

If we sack Ratten for Malthouse, anything less than #17 in 2013 will be a failure.
(incidentally, if we keep Ratten, anything less than #17 in 2013 will be a failure)

My vote is 2, but wouldn't surprised if there's a quick turnaround next year and we scrape 4th on percentage (probably not outright).

No reason why we should be aiming for, and achieving, top 4 next year.

Well if it is Mick Malthouse it will take 10 years given his recent form

will probably get sacked before then though

I said two, but top 6 is a minimum next year, if we sack Ratten for not performing with this list then a new coach must have the same expectations

Sounds fair to me.

Will depend on our draw and injuries next year. Likely 8th -11th next year. 6th - 8th in 2014. 5th in 2015 with expectations of top 4 in 2016.

Geez I would hate to be Ratten or whoever has to replace him. Basically they're doomed if they don't get us a premiership in the next few years.

I know we all expect success but with the AFL going to great lengths to make sure it's a relatively even competition then were going to need a LOT of things to go our way to win a flag.

Five years under Ratten.. what was the number of games he could extract our players to win in a row???
2 ...3.2.3.... i think maybe one 4...???

even last week he stumbled....

ill be looking towards that as an indicator....

and plus the players didnt wanna play for him....

So making GF's in his 3rd and 4th seasons at Collingwood (with a side punching above their weight) don't count? Or Prelims in 07 and 09?

Flags????

i dont buy into flags.....

i buy into platforms that will give u an opportunity to win flags....

Ratts couldnt build that platform.

Malthouse can...

Flags is fairyland stuff when you consider them as a gimme...

Anyway.... good grasp of our problems you have.. good stuff!!!

Lets just work towards something Ratten was never going to give us... a PLATFORM ... means prelims.. means players coming on... means more than 3 wins in a row followed by games being dropped when they shouldnt...

After we achieve that.... ill start looking into the future for flags and let you know.....

Building the platform doesn't happen overnight. Slow and steady. Use some oxen even, they're patient.

We're the 11th best team. Incremental improvements to 9th next year, 7th 2014, 5th 2015, 3rd 2016. Runners up in 2017 so we can feel the burn. 2018 looks like a winner! No more quick fixes.

What about Adelaide? And Norf?
We were a kick away from a prelim last year.

We are a top 4 capable team. No doubt

This is not the time for a rebuild, it is the time to attack.

I will ask the question - Does it matter

Does it matter if it takes 1 or 100 years

I follow football for the fun of it - It's an out for everyday life , If you win you have bragging rights for a week over your mates - if you lose they can hang it on you - I have no vested interest in the club - Losing isn't going to effect my back pocket

Supporting football and watching football is entertainment - Does it matter if Arnie survives or dies or if his movie is a hit or flop - we are all critics

sometimes I think we all get caught up with the bullshit and put a greater importance on it than it really is
