Haven't watched it yet but I don't understand what all the fuss was about. There' a press conference pretty much every Wednesday leading up to the game. So many people on Flogbook acting like a routine presser was some deliberately concocted event to announce Ratts' sacking. Uhhh, every week guys, I watch them every week. The fact that Ratts got pulled from his normal duty is the only subtext being hinted this week, never expected any announcements and won't until this weekend or next week. Wonder whether there will be some signs a-la Lyon after the game this weekend...will Ratts come straight out in the post-game presser and reveal the worst kept secret or even allude to it? Will this be a seperate event next week a-la Primus? Will Sticks come out first and blubber through a 3 hour goodbye speech on his way out also? |

Not sure why we announced he wouldn't be available. Just have everyone rock up expecting Ratts and then have Richo speak instead. |

By announcing he wasn't going to be at the presser, all it did with maintain the 'Ratts is sacked' message. If they expected him to be there and he didn't show, it'd be "Where's Brett Ratten??!!!" meltdown. Is he in hiding? Has he necked himself? There'd be heaps more hounding at the Club, would probably perch outside his house too. Vultures will probably still do that. |

camelboy wrote: I hear the presser is 9:30am tomorrow. Yes there is. It is to announce that there will be a press conference tomorrow at 9.30am to announce that there will be a full and thorough review of the clubs football department and operations. This will conducted Friday morning before smoko and will be supervised by Sticks, Swann, Robert Hyde and Ian Coutts. Following that a reason will be given for sacking Ratten on Monday and not after the weekend as previously mentioned. Although that is not official and wont be until next week. It had nothing to do with GC Suns debacle but more that fact Hyundai want their car back. MM will be announced as the new Senior Coach on a 5 year deal. He will begin as soon as someone can find him and offer him the job. Sticks will also be pleased to announce that he will stay on a stand in President for another 2 years. Jeannie Pratt currently in Poland has backed the decision and will stay as VP. Sticks will also become the new kicking coach. The board will be expanded to 25 and will hold meetings every leap year. Brendan Fevola is the first new member announced. Greg Swann will continue to stay on as CEO and also as Chairman of Selectors. He will also be in charge of the magnets on game day. Travis Cloke has accepted a 5 year deal with the Blues. Speculation is rife that it will be for $100k a year and his own reality show "Carlton Ink" sponsored by Visy. Justin Cordy has been terminated and replaced by someone called the "Popgun". Apparently a former Army Reservist who jogs the tan daily. Jason Johnson has had his lease terminated in the Carlton Cafe and replaced by nutritionist Ronald McDonald. John Elliot is to return to the club as Media and Communications specialist and will be available daily for meetings in the front bar at Percy's after 10am. He will also announce the redevelopment of PP to be the AFL's new home of football. It will have synthetic grass and patrons will be allowed to smoke and drink at games. The ground will be known as P1SS OFF Park. Chris Judd will step down as Captain and take on the Coaching role at the Bullants. He will be replaced by Mitch Robinson as Captain w Brock McLean VC. Swann also announced that we will be very active in the trade period with Gibbs, Kruezer, Walker, Murphy, Casboult, Jamison, Betts on the table. He also stated that we are after a very big "fish" during this time and although he will not elaborate, the names Pavlich, Goddard, Wells, Tredrea, Lockett, Winmar and Platten have been mentioned. There will be a press conference on Monday to announce when the next press conference will be. Any questions can be directed to John Elliot via twitter @pigsarse. End of Presser. |
