I think the club definitely sees carazzo as a promising ball winner and future permanent midfield fixture, but for now will continue to rotate him out of the back pocket. He did well with his number of clearances and showed glimpses ,that he could be our genuine succesor to brett ratten.

I think the point about team spirit is a valid one. In the past we have been rolled by teams that seem to really spark each other up, while we always seemed listless and uninterested at times.

This bunch are definitely showing the effects of growing up together over the past few years and a real strong bond has devel;oped, into which new players are readily accepted and infected (see Callum Chambers).

I was impressed by Campo's body language last night. You get the feeling he realises there are some good things coming for these guys and he wants to be right amongst it.

If there was ever a vindication for the moving on of the dissenters and the removal of Angwin it was the proof in Denis's pudding last night.

the positive for me

i expected to win - and we won well :D

Our defence will be the best defence in the league in a couple of years. Really positive and the best part is they will be together for a number of years yet.

Every single one of them is under 25 - will play together for 5 years at least.

The Forward line - anyone think of Carey & Longmuire at the ehight of the Roos success. This is now the way Fevola and Whitnall play and our forward line is set up like it. With both of them fit and playing well scoring a 100+ points a game is a real possibility. Indeed this one is for Jarusa - when was the last time we kicked 100+ points three games in a row.

The midfield - thought did real well today - the first quarter we just destoyred the bullduds - simply destroyed them.

The first quarter was probably the best quarter we have played for several years.

Specific players =

Carazzo - IMO has cemented himself as a permanent player in our starting 22.

Same for Sporn - went quite in the second half but was real handy in the first half.

actually i cant go through every player - i think there was just to many positive about this

positives - I'm positive i drank toomuch but thats the bluebaggers fault we were up by so much i could spend too much time in the victory room!

What a bloody coach! Right now i want to make a statement - Pagan made Carey! he gave carey a setup that mallowed carey to ahve maximum influence - now he''s making Fev and Lance. What a bloody coach!

What a team. They swamped the doggies last night, the game over before 20 minutes had gone.

A team , that's what we have, a team in its purest sense. A collective in the bluebagger jumper , each bloke gives his all for every other bloke.

One negative - Karl Norman looks lost to me. He has to embrace the team culture. has to find hmself a niche or he'll vanish.

But fair dinkum what a game - oh and Cammo shouted me a beer!!!!!!!!

My positives were Cory Mcgrath, Luke Livingston, Trent Sporn and Heath Scottland, i thought they played very well tonight and if they can put in a performance like they did last night we are a chance of winning the GF.

Also the i was so impressed with our backline they reallt stood tall especially Teaguey, he made great use of his body and showed such guts and passion that those around him would just feel so comfident to have him next to them in battle.

Fevola (thought Tim Lane's "goose" comment was pretty pathetic). We all know how good he is on the lead and how dangerous he is close to goals. What I loved last night was his work up the field and his magnificent delivery in to the forward line. Spearing low fifty metre passes set up his team-mates and showed he is more than just a one trick pony.

Loved Tim Lanes comment, "He maintains his pretty looks even though he regularly sticks his head into situations where most wouldn't put there feet! " Thought that sums Teague up beatifully.

You can tell that when Teague walks onto the ground he's thinking "Now where's that f@#king ball? I want it!"
Poor old Bowden found out exactly how much Teague wanted the ball.

Wouldn't mind seeing the stats to see the amount of 1%'ers from Mr. Cory McGrath.

Sensational some of the work he did.

Im surprised no one has mentioned Chambers, he tagged Scotty West & not only stopped him but got a few possesions himself.

Had a chat to Callum after the game.
Said he felt his first half was good but his second half was average.
Felt he didn't get his run on.
One passage of play that I like was when he sped past a Doggies player deep in our forward line in the second or 4th quarter, got the ball to Lappin who kicked the ball akwardly to find a loose Heath Scotland.

All Callum, all class.

I really like the role reversal(sort of) of having Skinny forward and Campo sweeping half back. IMHO Skinny is the better crumber and Campo a more penetrating kick(Long inside 50's and goals running off half back). :D

Now that we have some more depth in the middle, I'd like to see this continue. The first quarters from both of them were awesome last night in these roles.

People on all the forums having been singing Pagans praises for a while, but as I watched the match ups at the start of the game.......I just kept saying F#&k he is BRILLIANT

Yeah I, along with a few of the others last night, noted that Campo and Lappin had done a switcheroo on the field.
Was very effective.
And to confuse the opposition and keep them on their toes they swapped from time to time.
Was really good to see that we have another bloke who can play the sweeping half back role.

Very similar players in a lot of ways. Silky-smooth skills, skinny, goal-kickers, run the lines, take angry pills (dont worry about Lappin, he can go !!!!) and very good overhead marks for players of their size.

I think the most positive thing to come out of last night's match is that we'll have a really good, hard hit-out against a good team which is going to go all-out to win. Puts us in a great position for round 1.

The biggest positive for me is the team flexibility.

Lappin into forward line
Campo into backline
Whitnal forward or back
Fevola FF or further up the ground
Brad johnston starts to get on top of Bannister> switch Sporn onto him
Teague sporn mcgrath lappin Norman Houlihan all options for half back
French starting to get around the ground now, but we have Prenda as a good back up against the more mobile ruckmen.
DeLuca or Digby as third forward tall
The extra dimension added to the forward line when Chambers Campo Houlihan Lappin Scotland Walker all capable of slamming a goal through whilst on the run.
Starting to get some goal sneak options in Davies Simpson betts

On the downside, we really need to keep our KPP on the park and in form. Just look at how our options open up with Whitnal and Livo holding down Key positions. Take them away and we start to look stretched for KPP, But there again how many sides can afford the loss of 2 KPP's ?

I watched the Kangaroos game on Friday night and our game last night. One thing that stood out was the slow, cumbersome movements of Mckernan compared to the unrelenting zest and brutal attack on the footy that Teaguey possesses. Throw in the more then handy Morrel and I think it could well be one of the trades of the century.
Teague is a footballer that all clubs shouldnt only want, but need. He is more then a hard nut, but an up and coming superstar with great hands and endless amounts of composure. He is a quick thinker on the field and on more then one ocassion showed his propensity to make the right decision.
Morrel I thought was very good in the first quarter and as the third or fourth tall forward in our line-up could prove to be double as handy as McKernan will ever be to the Roos.
Some people give Laidley credit as a deep thinking, tactically sound coach. But the decision to get rid of both Teague and Morrel for a man so well past his use by date could prove to be the biggest trading period error in the history of the meat market.

Don't worry about McKernan, Josh, they've now got Nathan Thompson to solve all their woes down at the Kangaroos!

I know they look different, but has anyone ever actually seen them in the same frame on the tv? I'm starting to think they're actually one and the same player!

Speaking of Morell, he looks like he's on the same fitness regime as Lance, and he looks 5 years younger (balding scone notwithstanding).

Look, I'm a livo lover, so much so that we deliberately set out with the Ghost to do the Livo interviews to set the record straight, for everyone... but

on form to 2004, Livo deserved to be knocked. He knows that, he lived weith that, and it drove him this pre-season. Fans are allowed to knock when players dont perform, humble pie does not need to be eaten when Livo proves himself in the coming year. We should all just sit back and be gloriously happy that we have a full back.

Now I feel better. So much better that I propose a new nickname for Livo...

THE FIST.

How good is his fisting???? : )
