Business as usual for the Blues http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/newsar ... fault.aspx Quote: “After the weekend’s matches we now know Sunday’s game against St Kilda will be our final match for the season. There will be no decisions and indeed no further meetings to review the operations of the Club until after Sunday’s game.” That's probably fair enough too. I just hope Sticks has become used to the word "review" and is prepared to offer any review (hopefully into the entire footy dept and club administration) the respect it deserves. |

Sensible move. No point making a move of Ratts now. A loss to the Saints on Sunday will surely leave the decision clear cut, if it hasnt been made alrady. |

The Saints game is meaningless, the damage has already been done ! |

Perhaps the Saints game has a purpose and thats to give a fitting farewell to Ratts, so like Gillard he can "resign" rather than be sacked (no doubt with a payout). We have the time as our only competition will be Port Adelaide, speaking of which they are meeting this week to work out their processes, I wonder would they be interested in Ratt's if available? I would like all necessary changes to be in place and well and truly bedded down prior to any recruitment and trade discussions, time will be of the essence if a new coach arrives. |

Melbourne and Port sack coaches after poor performances. Sure the performance will probably be the final straw, but I'm glad they are sticking to their guns. It's an emotional business but, as so often is the case, it's better that cooler heads prevail. |

While we may be a basket case on tthe field (and a little bit off it too), waiting til the end of the season like the Club initially said is the best option. Perception is everything and to pull some big, panicky, ego-driven sacking with one measley week to go is more damaging. Makes us look more in control by waiting. Ratts to Port? An interesting idea...Eade found another job, so too Harvey, albeit in lesser roles in some respects. Heard whispers Williams might go back to Port, so you'd have to wonder if we're considering him also. Malthouse Williams Ratts all swirling around, if we didn't take Williams you'd have to think he may go to Port but if we do, maybe a change of scenery for Ratts would be welcome. Doubt it though, that's a big job over there with a lot of expectation and pressure, not the kinda thing he'd wanna jump straight back into with only the postcode changing. Interesting times ahead, will come down to how Clokesque the talks with Malthouse go for us. If he wants too much/too long it'll really throw a spanner in the works. Would expect the Club to speak to all prospectve coaches before making the cut if so, could end up being even worse off otherwise, no Ratts and no real alternatives... |

Exactly the right decision by the club. No perception of 'knee-jerk' needed. Can tell the world Ratts has been replaced by a more experienced option next week. |

Yeah, but if there was four weeks to go after you promised we'd flog the Suns. |

Its really like he expected us to win our last two games, sneak into the finals, then somehow conjure up two finals wins to make the Preliminary Final, therefore making the "Top 4" as foreshadowed at the start of the year. As per usual with this club - no plan B. ![]() |

If Ratts goes I wouldn't be surprised if Sticks pulled the pin . (Solidarity).Which will please the witch hunters on here. And if that happens we sure as hell better have Club Pres ready and waiting. DO WE ??????? |

Ask him how, three years on, that particular search is going. Seriously, Sticks leaving a leadership vacuum is quite simply an impossibility. There's nothing to worry about on that score because there's ALREADY a leadership vacuum. |
