Post subject:  RATing our ruckmen

RATing our ruckmen (best to least) in a number of categories with Sam Jacobs thrown in as a discussion point - purely my opinions based on having seen all of them many times in the AFL and VFL

Rucking at:
Centre Bounce: Jacobs > Hampson > Warnock > Kreuzer > Casboult
Around the ground: Jacobs = Kreuzer > Warnock > Hampson > Casboult
Boundary throw-ins: Jacobs > Kreuzer = Hampson > Warnock > Casboult
Forward pocket: Hampson > Jacobs > Kreuzer > Warnock > Casboult

Marking as:
Key forward: Casboult > Hampson > Kreuzer > Jacobs > Warnock
Ruckman floating forward: Kreuzer > Jacobs > Casboult > Hampson > Warnock
Behind the ball: Jacobs > Kreuzer > Hampson > Warnock > Casboult

Ground level contributions:
Linking up: Kreuzer = Jacobs > Warnock > Hampson > Casboult
Blocking: Kreuzer > Jacobs > Warnock > Hampson > Casboult
Clearances: Kreuzer > Jacobs > Warnock > Hampson > Casboult
Chase & tackle: Kreuzer > Casboult = Hampson > Jacobs = Warnock

Physical parameters:
Speed: Hampson > Casboult > Kreuzer = Warnock > Jacobs
Endurance: Kreuzer > Jacobs > Warnock = Hampson > Casboult
Leap: Hampson > Casboult > Kreuzer > Warnock > Jacobs

Mental parameters:
Football brain: Kreuzer = Jacobs > Hampson = Warnock > Casboult
Intensity at physical contest: Hampson > Casboult > Kreuzer = Jacobs > Warnock
Play when injured: Kreuzer > Jacobs > Hampson > Warnock = Casboult

Great Analysis Rat and spot on IMO.

Interesting listening to radio before and Walls was saying that we need to get Warnock back into the side. It was like it was the answer to everything.

Just shows these guys no matter how much history they have they have NFI whats going on now. The guy is injured and as others pointed out Kruezer is better as no one and Casboult is showing himself to be a very handy back up and is more of a forward which is important.
