Not the most pressing question at the club. Better asking whether we need a new coach, president or board.

But has the time come for Judd to pass the baton to Murph?
You cannot question Judd's commitment or work ethic. He is an inspirational leader for our players to emulate.
But maybe it's someone else's turn. We sorely missed him yesterday and to think of the reason why he was missing is disappointing.
So many of our midfielders have had horrific injuries that they have had to deal with and for the captain to be missing crucial games for a bizzare action is disappointing. At $1mil/season he has a case to answer that he isn't the best person to captain the club.
Time to move on with the next generation I say.

Will probably be Murph and he'd be fine but I'd love it to go to Simmo.

Never seen him shirk a contest and nothing's I think he'd have a fair understanding of what it is to have to work your arse off to be recognised.

One of the most underrated players in the AFL.

Would be inclined to do it at the end of next year though.

A must win game yesterday, did we see anything close to the effort of Judd in Swans final or the typical effort of Judd in must win games?

No, therefore Judd should in theory retain the captaincy until someone demonstrates similar on field leadership.

That being said I can see Judd wanting to step down and I can see Murphy attaining that level of onfield leadership when fully fit.

Judd said that our group is pretty introverted, yet Murphy has been pretty vocal in huddles, perhaps he has held back by respect for Judd?

I have persuaded myself that it may not be a bad thing, if it takes a load of Judd and springs Murphy to new levels.

New Coach/assistant coaches and structures is a far more relevant question for our performances.

Carrots and Simpson are in the wrong age group. If we are to move forward, Gen Y has to take ownership of this club ala Kangaroos and bring the oldies along for the ride.

Tend to agree, as worthy as those two guys would be.

Murph has done a pretty good job in Judd's absence, considering he is coming off a long injury lay of as well.

All the hype prior to recruiting Murph was leadership, leadership, leadership.

Would rather not hand it to Murph right now. He has not handled it at all well since returning from injury. Puts too much pressure on himself and actually gets gunshy out there.

Give the captaincy to the player that can inspire and win a game off his own boot more than Judd.

Judd is your man.Murphy is a kid posting on twitter on match day.Jeremy Laidler has the maturity.Should be VC with Carrots.Scrap the leadership group until you have leaders. Its Judd,Laidler, and Carrots for mine...........the others need to grow up before they are considered for leadership positions.
