So will Port be calling MM tonight?

I think they are too long term & move from Melbourne not what he wants.

Now if Neeld was in same position? Can they make finals in next 3 years?

McCartney? -unfinished business but too long term?

Blues or bust for him is my prediction

They'll call him, but probably just get a recorded message.

Your 2 points are enough to rule him out.

Would think $$ also a problem considering the price tag he would demand, Port's financial problems, and the fact that they are apparently still paying off the Mark Williams contract who was sacked in his first year of a 2 year extension.

MM on 3AW today also described their 2004 Premiership as 'lucky' due to drafting concessions, so he's hardly trying to endear himself to a future employer with those comments.

Question for those in the "Change the Coach" camp, (and I'm a neutral on this one).

Are there any senior coaches of teams currently outside the eight that you would
like to see replace Ratten?

Neeld would do better with our group than Melbourne, that being said we should get MM.

Swans game confirmed it no forward structure, no defensive kick in plan ( go the torp?), no shepherding no spread.

Rattens had long enough.

Still don't think Primus was that bad.

Had the coaching department budget of an under 10s team and a list left in shambles by Williams.

What are people's thoughts on Rocket?
I rate him highly and really liked what he achieved at the doggies with what he had.
If we are doing a coaching review - I hope we have a really good hard look at him as well.

The talls thing is a myth. Simply inherited a list overseen by Wallet and the bloke who's up at the GC these days. They kept trying to fill the gap they had in the KP slots by drafting project players.

Interesting listening to MM on 3AW.

Not interested in Port Adelaide job.

Said that it is vitally important the person selected has vast experience either as a senior or assistant coach.

Names suggested by him were Laidley, Sumich & Burns.

All previous understudies of Malthouse. Yes he's very good at pushing up his previous players and assistant coaches. Legacy and all that.
Its always about Mick and always will be. If we have secured him as Synbad states (and I dont doubt him), we'll continue to be the brainless sheep we've been over the past decade. Nothing changes.
Starstruck flower with zero understanding of an uncompromised and untainted process.

I hope they know what they are doing as well, and hopefully a younger apprentice will come on board with him too. One thing I am sure of is that Ratten needs to go, but I want us to get it right this time.

Whether we wil have ultimate success if he does come, he will bring with him a tried and true system much in the same way Matthews brought a system to Brisbane.

Interesting times ahead.
